« Wir blieben auf der Durchreise vom Kruger NP in die Drakensberge eine Nacht in Ermelo. Das sehr günstige Zimmer war überraschend groß, sehr stylish mit langem Durchgang zum Bad, schwarzen Steintafeln an den Wänden... « We had a marvellous time at Caracal Lodge. It was a wonderful away from it all experience. Magtree Cottage was very comfortable and well equipped even though there is no electricity, power being supplied by gas appliances, paraffin lamps and LED lighting. It was magical to wake up with views of the resident giraffe family as well as zebra, impala, horses and a pet pig! Outside there was a braai, fire pit in a lovely shaded area and a small pond. Exploring the 300 hectare game park there...

« It's a long way down the dirt track to Tonteldoos, the bar is a bikers haven with a small collection of classic bikes. Location is really isolated and pretty, goats and peaches all around. House was far bigger than we needed and a kind of 1980s throwback, Eight of us rattled around in it. Host very friendly, highly recommended if you like this sort of thing. We were random tourists in a low clearance hire car, so the last 20 km was slow! »

« The cleaning at this property is done superficially. They need to do a deep clean as there is dirt in the corners, smell from the sheets and blanket, dust on applicances and slime in the kettle. There was a service door to the bathroom which isn't itself a problem, but I could smell cigarette smoke coming through every so often in the morning. »

« No TV in the room, when you staying over for the night and don't want to sit in the pub for the entire evening, TV would have been nice. »
