The property was unique and in a great location. We walked to Gibraltar twice and also enjoyed the excellent cafes in La Linea so we got the best of both worlds! Our house boat was the smallest so it was very compact, but it was comfortable for the 2 of us. Storage was thoughtfully appointed, plus the rooftop seating area was comfortable with an awesome view! We arrived by bus with the stop a short walk away, but I know parking was offered if needed. The host was very responsive and answered any questions promptly. The sweet cat who lives in the area and visited us was an added bonus!

Despite being just 2 people, we stayed in one of the large boats--two bedrooms, two bathrooms--and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The boat itself was impeccably clean and furnished with new, modern appliances and furnishings. There's an excellent kitchen for those who want to cook, and the boat's rooftop 'terrace' is a great place to relax. The provided water and welcome drinks in the fridge were a great touch. Communication before and during the stay was excellent, and written directions provided on everything (from parking to entry to departure and everything in between...) were clear and helpful. The Hausboat people also arranged a morning tour of Gibraltar for us, which was, again, extremely well organized and a lot of fun.

Absolutely loved the boathouse. It was clean, easy to access, had everything i needed and more. The host communication was superb 👌 contacted me before i arrived to make sure i had everything I needed. I had a question about the shower, the host responded very fast. I absolutely loved the easy communication with the host.

Outstanding place to stay and walk into Gibraltar. Come back to the boat and relax with the calmness of the marina, beautiful view of the Rock. Amenities are excellent on the boat. A real treat.

The location and views are excellent. Our boat was one of the Classics and was well appointed. They need to advertise that toilet paper is not allowed in the toilet in case that is an issue with anyone. The mattress needs to be replaced as we kept rolling to the middle during the night. But still a 4.5 star stay. Communication was very good with the host.

A fairly weather dependent option
Decided to try this unusual option. Positives: good comms from the owner - email with instructions and codes to get through the gate then enter the “boat/room”. The keypad on the door of the boat is not great as the buttons stick. It took 4 tries to get in. The boat is small and compact but well maintained. Alas for me I stayed on a windy night - the outside hammocks on all of the boats are a nice idea but they clattered against the boats all night making such a noise it was hard to sleep. The bed scores 4/10 comfort. Overall, sadly, for me, not worth the price. Would I stay again? Truth is had it been a lovely day, nice weather/then probably yes - being on the water and feeling the boat rock was very pleasant. The views of the Rock are great. But comfort level is pretty low. I’d be tempted to stay in summer but not in winter - that noise from outside banging of the hammocks was terrible.

Thank you for your feedback Mark, you are right saying that you would have enjoyed more and had a better experience on a sunny day than with wind, sorry that this affected your stay. Hope that you will change your mind and improve the experience in summer in our modern boat (bigger and with more comfort)!

Die 2 Nächte auf dem Hausboot waren mit ein Highlight unserer Reise. Es war alles in einem super Zustand. Top gepflegt und alles vorhanden, was man braucht, um einen tollen Urlaub zu verbringen. Die Kommunikation war prima, das Parken einfach und nah am Steg. Wir freuen uns auf einen nächstes Mal und können diese super ausgefallene Unterkunft jedem empfehlen, der das Besondere liebt. Wir haben die Zeit genossen und kommen gerne wieder. Vielen Dank für eine wundervolle Zeit.

One of a kind experience. The kids loved it.
A great experience. Easy self check in. Great location. Restaurants within 300m walk. Free bikes and helmets. We didn’t use the bikes. 5 min walk to Gibraltar border crossing. Again, a great experience.

My husband and I booked the awesome Royal Boat House. We absolutely loved the experience. This was our 2nd time visiting Gibraltar and the boat house is just minutes walking distance from the boarder. The design, the layout, location and the deck are all exceptional. Such a cool idea for a stay close to Gibraltar.

The views from the sundeck are amazing! This is a unique stay and the owners are very helpful and communicative about any quirks. The bikes to get into Gibraltar are such a great amenity.

I would highly recommend the Boat Haus , they are in a great location , just a 10 minte walk from the Gibraltar border and Airport . They all face the rock and boats and yachts to the back . They have everything you need and are very clean. I will definitely go back .

Grand Royal boathouse
Great way of staying close to Gibraltar. We enjoyed the stay at the grand Royal boat very much. The boat has very high standard, don’t miss a thing. The beds are really nice, you have all you need in the kitchen and a lovely roof teras! It’s clean and nice inside and outside. Also it’s so beautiful situated in the marina with a marvellous view of the rock. We will definitely come back again!

Fun and convenient stay
Great time on the houseboat! Communication was excellent and checking in and out were easy. Convenient laundry and restaurants nearby and we walked to the cable car in Gibraltar.

Die Hausboote sind einfach super. Fangen wir von vorn an. Die Kommunikation und die erhaltenen Informationen sind Top. Das Auto kann man direkt am Bootssteg parken. Der Zugang zum Steg und zum Boot erfolgt über ein Zahlenschloss und Codes die man vorher erhalten hat. Das Boot ist besser ausgestattet wie manche Ferienwohnung. Willkommen drinks und Wasserspender sind inklusive. Die Dachterrasse mit Aussicht auf den Berg ist super wenn nicht sogar sensationell. Gibraltar liegt somit direkt in Sichtweite und ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe findet man auch schnell per "Maps". Bei unserem Hausboot hatte das Bad zwar Caravan-karakter, für zwei Übernachtungen war das aber vollkommen OK. Wer das nicht möchte kann auch die teureren Hausboote mieten. Wir hatten die Möglichkeit solch ein Boot zu besichtigen. Hier ist die Ausstattung schon luxuriös. Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen und würden auch wieder dieses Hausboot mieten.

Amazing house boat.
What an absolute gem. We only stayed 1 night as our flight was cancelled from Gibraltar. After a very difficult day we were meet by amazing staff who couldn't do enough to help us and provide everything we needed. The house boat is amazing with everything a family of 6 needed. I wish we had stayed there for our holiday. We will definitely be going back for a longer stay.

Det var helt fantastisk å bo i denne husbåten, skulle ønske vi kunne vært der flere dager. Veldig gode senger og behagelig med AC i varmen. Takterrassen har fantastisk utsikt i alle retninger og Gibraltar fjellet rett bak. Det tar ca 10 min å gå til grensen. To gode restauranter rett ved husbåtene.

The Boat Haus is so much fun and very relaxing. You can sit on upper deck to view the Rock of Gibraltar, which is a stone’s throw away. The Boat Haus was so well planned and done well there was everything you need to have a relaxing stay.

Mysigt boende. Vid bra väder är detta ett utmärkt val. Begränsat med plats inomhus men trevliga sittmöjligheter utomhus. Det fanns även en restaurang i hamnområdet.
