In the first place I never stayed at the hotel to be clear, secondly the hotel is in a poor condition. No light, terrible odor. While it’s true there’s class of human, having that hotel on your platform is a bad decision

I felt truly unsafe at this hotel and despite booking for 3 nights I left after reviewing the property and the room. There were only about 5 cars in the parking lot but one was half stripped and burned out. The one guest I saw looked like he was on very heavy drugs. The pool was not open and looked it it had not been in a long time. There were numerous places where the overhead concrete in outdoor walkways was crumbling - and if a new piece fell it could have hit my head and killed me. Lastly the window in my room had been shot out. It had two bullet holes in it and a partial repair. It had plexiglass installed inside of the broken glass. I left and came back the next day to ask the manager for a full refund. He was not there and I showed the pictures to the person at the desk. Although the Expedia rating was not that high (about a 6.4 when I booked) I felt it was high enough for my budget and needs for a simple room. In my view the rating should be about a 2 or a 3 and clearly a lot of bogus reviews are propping up the overall score. Management never got back to me and I just called corporate to share the details and request a refund.

This was the dirtiest room I have ever seen. Used soap from last guest still in shower. Old chewing gum in carpet. Floor at sink sticky. Dirt behind bathroom door and a used tissue on the floor. It was horrible.

The pictures are absolutely deceiving!!!!! This is like a "d r u g" and "p r o s t i t u t e" motel!!! It's so gross and dirty. There was nobody in the hotel, even the parking lot was completely empty. We literally walked into our room, and turned right around and left for a different hotel!!! Please avoid! I promise you, you'll regret it!!!

Days Inn brand historically meant clean, safe, family friendly and good value. Unfortunately, now that the namesake is licensed to independent operators, that is not the case at this Johnson City property. In short, this property is poorly managed, poorly maintained, and not a value at any room rate. Take yourself and loved ones elsewhere to avoid dirty rooms, unsavory characters lurking about the different sections of the property, and a noisy overall experience.

This hotel is unkept. The table, nightstands and TV console were covered in dust. There were several stains on the chair upholstery. The carpet is coming up at the edges. The worst was seeing a cockroach when we closed the fridge. We were able to catch it, showed it to the staff and was told the only other room available was one without a working A/C. We got the hell outta there. I would not recommend this place to anybody. Its so filthy its a health hazard.

Pros:The beds were clean and comfortable and there were clean towels and wash clothes. Reservation and check-in was easy. The facility was easy to find. Cons: There were stains all over the walls in the room and halls. Melted wax had been splashed on the walls in the room. Furniture was all wobbly, stained, burn holes and some broken. The room was so cold that we had to turn the heater up to 88 degrees and sleep with sweatshirts over our night clothes to stay warm. One side of the toilet seat was not fastened to the toilet and we almost slid off of the toilet a couple of times. There were holes in the walls in the elevator, some of the room numbers were on pieces of paper taped to the wall and most of the exterior of the building had trash piled up around it. I've stayed in Days Inn and Suites before and NEVER experienced this type of situation. I didn't expect this facility to be a 5 star hotel but I certainly didn't expect this. If we had been staying longer than one night (we were here for a funeral) we would definitely have found a different place to stay. This was a very disappointing experience.

Construction was going on with several of the rooms being completely torn down...It was incredibly noisy and people were coming and going all night...Our room was by a back door and it seems that some people are actually living in the hotel maybe as short term rentals. Pay $20 more and stay somewhere else
Seriously, go somewhere else. Stayed as a pit stop for longer trip. Check in person was friendly. Fridge wasn’t cold in the room. Hard to use the toilet paper (roll was behind the toilet). Air conditioning/heater VERY loud. Several open/piled up electrical or phone cords. Open panels in elevator. Continental breakfast VERY sparse - cereal, toast, yogurt, build your own sandwiches only. Frozen sausage in cooler had to warm yourself. Cereal dispensers would not work and stale. Rotten/spoiled creamer. Slow toaster. Staff dropped serving utensils while we were in the breakfast room and did clean or replace them, just put them back. We picked this place because it was $20 less than another hotel on the next exit and was still supposed to have breakfast. We ended up needing to go somewhere and spent most of the money we saved on getting something to eat.

When I entered the property I noticed the toilet seat had what looked like a cigarette burn in in it, one shelf in the bath tub bad seemingly been pushed down and the caulk had broken from the wall, the TV was awful, I couldn’t get a Roku or fire stick to connect to the internet and the screen seemed overly zoomed in. And on top of all that the sofa and chair was covered in disgusting stains. Not to mention the hall ways were cold and the front desk people were rude when I asked if I could get a different room so as not to be charged for damages I didn’t know if they knew about or not. When they said no I asked for a refund but couldn’t get it until I talked to the third party I booked the room through. Then they gave me exactly ten minutes to check out so they would approve the refund through the third party but given the attitude I received when checking out, I don’t know if I will get the refund or not. I will never stay with this branch again.

Property is basically best for driving to/from. Room Air Conditioner was SUPER loud. Belt squealed. Compressor loud. Definitely requires maintenance. I left my tools at home, unfortunately. I thought about asking for a different room, but knew it would take too long, as my check in did.

Never Again!
When I checked in they charged pet fee of $25 which was not listed. No directions given or info about coffee or breakfast. No receipt. Room dark and dreary. Toilet ran off and on all night. Heat set on 74 but never got warm only sucked cigarette smoke into room. 1am awakened by either maintenance crew or unruly guest that only stayed an hour with banging, laughing, loud music. Sounded like in the stair well. Checked out at 7am. Still no receipt. Had to ask if they had coffee and where. Coffee not ready. No breakfast ready. Only had an apple.

Dirty, dated, night check in staff not very friendly-no personality at all. Broken glass on fire extinguisher, scuffed and dingy walls, floor in room was dirty, pictures from the wall just placed on the floor next to the bed. Definite no to ever stay again!

Cockroaches
The property was not clean. It’s had a bad smell to it. A lot of things appeared broken and when I went to my room there were baby cockroaches on the wall. I checked out immediately but they were not able to give me any paperwork. I had to check into another property.

Filthy is a mild description.
The score for cleanliness is zero! The room was nothing short of nasty. We realize it was a busy race weekend but there is no excuse. We registered four guests and there were a total of three towels in the bathroom for a two night stay. The guest attendant was less than fried when we asked for additional towels. Would not recommend walking around in the room without shoes, filthy. Literally took a shower, walked into room to get dressed and had to clean our feet before putting shoes and socks on. Found “something” under the bathroom counter, and a used safety pin on the counter, clearly bathroom floor and counter had not been cleaned prior to our stay. Photos included.
