It has the name La Quinta, therefore we thought it would be pleasant. Oh my goodness- What a dump!!! Whoever has the job of doing simple repairs inside and outside of the room has been on some kind of extended vacation- broken and damaged facilities all around! Whoever is tasked with basic cleanup outside in hallways and parking area just does not care anymore. Whoever is in charge of parking lot security- Well there was a vehicle parked very close to our room who was openly dealing drugs. (Not weed). It was stinky and ugly everywhere. For $10 more there are pleasant places to stay nearby. Avoid this place if you can!

Be warned - there’s a few trains that run RIGHT behind the hotel. Adjacent to the wall of one of the largest building. The trains DO run at night and the walls aren’t thick. We have a noise machine and the trains were so loud they woke our kids multiple times even through the brown noise. Additionally, while the linens smell clean, the carpets on the floor are very dirty and stained. We also found old moldy food pieces on the floor near the bed. It was a rough experience with kids. I highly suggest paying a little extra and staying at one of the nicer hotels in the area without a train running next to the rooms.

This hotel does not offer an extended check-out time. The first hotel I ever stayed at that didn't honor an extended check out time. The hotel is also run down and does not fit the neighborhood it's in. Irvine is a beautiful city and does not need junk hotels like this one. Never again do I ever stay at a La Quinta Hotel.

I was mostly just looking for a place to sleep for the night and the room fit the bill. The staff was kind, responsive, and helpful, but the room itself had a couple of issues. One of the wall lamps was only just hanging together by a threaded bolt, the refrigerator did not work, and light switches were in unexpected places. It got the job done and I'll stay there again if the need arises, but I can't give it a strong reccomendation.

No shampoo, conditioner, or body wash when I arrived. Lots of weirdly taped up doors that made it look ghetto. Blow dryer didn’t work, tv didn’t work, lamp turned off halfway into stay, the most annoying part was keys stopped working every night, I had to go the desk and get new ones every night. If you want to sleep in a bit (until 9 to 10), don’t expect your room to get cleaned that day.

It is close to the hwy and you can get to grocery stores pretty quickly. Next to several restaurants you can walk to and a gas station. The property is unique and beautiful, but I am sure its age has its challenges with upkeep. This is our 2nd time staying here. The plus is there is room enough for our family of 6 to all be in 1 room and there is a pool everyone can enjoy. We did have some leaking (from heavy rains) in our room so they moved us to a different room. Our first room has a mini fridge with freezer that worked great and a microwave that worked great, but the phone wasnt working. The 2nd one didnt have a freezer part and the mocrowave didnt spin, but it worked for what we needed it for. The humidity level is a bit higher in the silo rooms because you have cement walls/floor/ceilings, but if you turn the AC up a little it isnt too bad.I actually prefer it to be a little humid. The bathrooms didnt really have vents/fans that worked right so super humid in there. The train does go by once in awhile (you can feel it) but that didnt really bother me. I always bring earplugs when I travel because I am not use to outside traffic noise and such. Not that you could really hear it from inside. Overall we would happily stay again. It is safer and nicer than most places in its price range and the free full breakfast just makes it that much better. And beds are comfy.

There was HAIRS on the WALL that was not mine or my daughter’s. The bedspread had suspicious stains on it. I did not want to use it because it looked bloody-ish. Good enough if you have no where else to stay.
This hotel is sub par at best. Tucked up next to the 5 freeway, this is the kind of hotel that good for a quick stop late at night before you continue on your travels. Most of the hotel is an old converted silo barn, made out of solid concrete. “Murder Castle” “creepy” and “prison” are all used to describe this part of the hotel in other reviews and we agree. We explored that part of the hotel when we visited the fitness center and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. NO WHERE on the site is this building shown or mentioned so I was quite surprised when I Google Earth-ed the property, saw it, and did some digging. (From now on I will Google Earth the hotel BEFORE booking.) We actually stayed in the newer building, which is more of a Motel-vibe. While these rooms are better lit and have actual paint on the walls, that’s where the improvements end. There were several rips in our carpet as well as paint chipped off the walls. While the bathroom was mostly clean, it still felt dingy. The toilet handle needed to be held to flush properly, the shower head leaked, the sink was barely attached, and there was peeling paint and scratches all over. On top of all this, they didn’t have any extra pillows to bring us, despite it still being early evening. Thankfully we were only staying one night so we toughed it out.
