Loved that they were accommodating to having hockey families at the motel. Biggest complaints: my bed was rock hard. The water jug was empty.

Ok... This was an older hotel and they are improving it awesomely! The rooms are updated with new beds, brand new flooring, bedding and towels. It also has the largest shower and hotub combination I have ever seen. The pool area is completely updated, clean, and has a ping pong table and real swedish sauna where you pour water over the rocks. The owner Nick and his wife are awesome and they even built a hockey rink outside for their two kids. Finally, we were on our way to a VRBO, and shared that we had to bring our own towels)but didn't have any), so they gave us a couple of older clean towels to use, no charge. This is hospitality at its finest. :)

Despite it being in the middle of some renovations, it was a really nice and quiet place to stay. We will definitely book our next stay there. The pool area was really nice and clean. The front desk receptionist was super friendly. I can’t wait to see it again when everything is fully renovated & updated. 😊

The saying don’t judge a book by its cover fits with this hotel. Excellent service. Dude was nice. Think he was owner? It’s pretty neat they take part in activities like fires and such. They are in process of remodel but improvements show and I’m curious to see the future for these guys!

Loved the outdoor area for relaxing in a antigravity chair with a cocktail and enjoy nature, just "zenning" We were at the same property a couple of years ago and are excited for the improvements the New owners are doing, this will soon be the place to stat in Hayward!!!!

Staff is doing their best to renovate hotel. Rooms were clean and bed was new. In room jacuzzi was great. Water pressure was very low. Tv remote working was hit or miss. Staff was friendly.

Our stay was great. Yes the building needs some improvements but it was still very clean and the staff was very friendly. The location was convenient to the attractions in the area.

Clean and comfortable, but OLD and $$$
The place appears to be in the process of being renovated. It needs a LOT of work but there is a lot of potential. The most important things they got right - it's clean and the bed is comfortable, but the price they charge is out in space. I would not stay here again unless the price is reduced greatly.

The staff is amazing! Our room was spacious, comfy bed, fluffy and soft towels, nice area! We spent some time in sauna and pool, very nice! Staff is renovating entire place, loved the character and relaxed vibe. They have large outdoor area for camp fire and laughs. We enjoyed it for a bit until it rained. :). I hope the staff (owners) keep going and find time to relax without burnout. We will definitely be back!

I made my reservation based on past reviews of this motel that mostly seemed to be good reviews. From my experience this hotel is very old and in tough condition . Our room had a awful smell as well as being very musty and in bad condition. The hot tub was not working and the pool area was not in good condition . Most of the pictures online must have been taken a long time ago because they are very misleading to the overall condition of the property. Other guests may have gotten a much nicer room then I did because no way is this a 10 rating motel especially for the price

Older property but seems to have a lot of recent improvements, like nice bed linens and towels. Convenient location for the world lumberjack championships. Nice sauna and pool, and we enjoyed the "backyard" area where they kept a bonfire going and had chairs, hammocks, bean bags, etc. Would stay again.

This property is currently being refurbished and have rooms that are somewhat finished. The bed was comfortable but the sheets were all wrinkled. It wasn’t up to par as far as cleanliness is concerned.

Quiet and Comfortable Stay
We loved staying at the Lumberjack Inn this past weekend. It was very convenient to area attractions. The property was quiet and clean. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept on and the towels were fluffy and large. We also had a great time in the pool and sauna (renovation work is being done on the hot tub). It's important to point out that this is a property that is clearly under renovation. Rehabilitation work is actively being done, but we had all we needed for a comfortable stay. The owners were a delight to talk to and were very attentive. It is clear that they have a vision for the property and are working hard to get there. In the meantime, it's a great place to stay and we can't wait to see the continued progress and end result!

We loved the Lumberjack Inn—great pool, softest bath towels and sheets I’ve had in a motel and the mattresses were amazing. Nick, the owner, went out of his way to help our stay be great! He even went to pick up pizza for us from Coops since our vehicle was in the shop!

Super comfortable beds, great service from the motel office staff, and kids loved the pool. It’s a motel, so it’s not fancy, but we loved our stay.
