During the middle of the night the smoke detector low battery alarm went off. We called the front desk and eventually the beeping was resolved after maintenance was called to replace the battery. It took about 25 minutes to get it done. Unfortunately, after all the commotion I was unable to go back to sleep. The next day when I mentioned the inconvenience and how I was unable to go back to sleep for the rest of the night the hotel staff apologized but didn't offer any other consolation, like a discount or a free night on my next visit. And then on top of not offering compensation for a horrible night's sleep, double-charged me tax. I had to walk back to the front desk to get that adjusted. Definitely not happy with the customer service.
