"Beautiful! "

"This was our second visit to Castello Vicchiomaggio but the first overnight there. It's a beautiful historic property that is maintained impeccably. Our room was perfect in every way. We stayed in a junior suite. It was extremely spacious with a separate living room. The decor was very tasteful and the linens were luxurious. The bathroom was spacious with great water pressure. The bath products supplied smelled lovely. The food at the main castle, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, was excellent. The chef is quite talented for sure! After checkin we enjoyed our complimentary gift of wine while sitting under the olive trees taking in the beauty of the valley below. The pool was too cool to enjoy unfortunately but would be excellent on a warmer day for sure. The views are crazy beautiful! After relaxing for a few hours, we enjoyed a tour of the vineyards, and historic cellar, then a wonderful wine paired dinner with live piano music. It was an extremely dreamy experience. We'll definitely return and highly recommend. "

"In lieu of a wedding, we rented the castle for a long weekend family vacation. It was incredible! We had 14 people and all fit comfortably in the rooms. There are many common spaces. Giovanni recommend a wonderful private chef who we used for dinners and breakfasts. Taxis need to be booked far in advance or rent a few cars to get around. In Tuscany taxis tend to book out quickly. We had some family members traveling internationally and arriving early. Giovanni was very helpful in getting their rooms ready first so they could take naps and get settled in. The castle was so much fun to explore! The basement is a wild sight. The rooms were comfortable, large and had amazing views. Visit all of the rooms because they are each unique :) The suites have sinks and refrigerators, which was an unexpected surprise! There are many hiking trails nearby to explore. Bring your binoculars because there is great birding! The pool had shaded areas all day and sunny areas all day. Would go back in a heartbeat!"

"I can't say enough about this special little gem. We had a little hiccup in our travel plans and we didn't have a car like we originally planned. This would have made all the difference in terms of getting around and exploring the beautiful countryside. But as it was, Mateo, Pierre and Wolly did everything they could to help us out and even went out of their way to provide exceptional service and make us feel welcome. This beautiful peaceful resort was such a nice welcome and respite to the hustle and bustle we had experienced prior to arriving. I would highly recommend staying here but be sure to rent a car so you can explore the area and travel into town. We did take the bus into Florence but it only runs 1 x hr. so be sure not to miss it. "
