Meeting up with a friend from the UP

Publié le 5 nov. 2014
A very old un-kept facility It felt like a ghost town - empty and dim low ceilings in hallways No coffee except at the continental breakfast that closed at 10 am Staff at front desk obviously hate their job

Color tour

Publié le 20 oct. 2014
Les + : Price was right.
Les - : Some folks had to wait until after 6:00 pm to check in because there room wasn't ready. That was not good. I'm glad that didn't happen to us.
Situation : Convenient location to highway. Other restaurants within walking distance.
Stayed here as a stop for the night during our color tour through part of the state. Staff at front desk were friendly as well as the staff in the bar. The pool and spa tub were very nice. One of the hottest hot tubs we have been in in a while. Nice!

Not the place to go for peace and quiet

Publié le 20 oct. 2014
Les + : Room was clean and the hotel was easy to find.
We learned only after we had booked that all of the rooms in this hotel open into a large pool and social area, so there is no escaping the noise. When we called to complain we were told by a very uncaring staff person that the pool stays open until 11p.m. on weekends (despite signs in the pool area to the contrary) and that there was nothing they could do. I learned the next morning when I went to the "fitness center " (a broken exercise bike, a few hand weights and a treadmill) that the treadmill requires a key from the front desk, and the breakfast required that we present with coupons. There aren't many options in Grayling but I can't recommend this one.

Les - : Bathroom
We really enjoyed our stay at the Ramada in Grayling,MI. It was very quiet and I loved the setting and the size of the pool. The beds we very comfy and the TV, fridge and microwave were new. The only thing, was the bathroom. Hopefully, the tub will be updated and our sink was plugged...but those were minor things. Staff was great and breakfast was good! Also, after having driven all day, it was nice to find the hotel right off the highway!

Disappointing

Publié le 22 août 2014
Les + : Hot Breakfast and Pool area was nice. We were able to walk inside
Les - : Cleaning Service and Water needs to be hot.
Situation : Great location for kayaking and boating.
There was no hot water and the shower head was facing backwards. We left in the morning for a day excursion. When we returned at 6 pm, our room had had the towels and trash removed but was not clean. We had no towels to freshen up before heading to dinner. The note they left to tell us that they would be returning to finish cleaning was old and had been used many times over, revealing that this is a common practice at this hotel. When we went to the desk for new towels, they told us that they did not have any clean towels. Really? After returning from dinner and still no towels, we asked the manager about towels who then turned around and presented him with towels. Rain rolled in on Saturday and saturated the floor in front of our rooms. Buckets were every where including the area where breakfast was served. Might want to think about other accommodations.

Bad hotel

Publié le 22 août 2014 sur Hotels.com
Booked a room with a King bed through Hotels.com. Got there at around 10:30 pm with my 6 year old son and was checked into a room with a King size bed and the room actually had a Queen size bed. Went back to the front desk and the same person who checked us into a King size room told me "sorry we don't have any king size bed available" and that was it. No apologies, reasonable explanation or ways to make it up to us. Had no choice that late at night and went back to same room. Then could not even use the AC because it was so loud and sounded like a rattle snake was in it. BTW, old and dated place.

Needs Updating

The room was very clean, but the halls and stairways were very dirty and dingy. Breakfast was a joke - the hot food was cold and the cold food was hot! I guess you get what you pay for. No deal through this web site.

Pretty good experience.

Les + : Nice pool, whirlpool, kidding pool and play area for children. Nice breakfast buffet.
Les - : Need more staff cleaning rooms as well as checking in. Had to wait in long lines all 3 times I tried to check in.
Situation : Location was right off I-75, so very easy to find. There are thing to do around there. Not a lot of nice sit down restaurants in that area.
Had some problems with checking in as the room was not ready @ 4pm, other than that our stay was very nice. Nice pool and play area for our grandson. Breakfast room was very nice and roomy and the food was good. I'd stay here again. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but one inside we found it to be a little gem.
