Very warm , AC didn’t work
The room was very very warm, the AC didn’t work. Did not sleep well, very uncomfortable night. The hotel had not better room with AC for me. I expected som action, but no thing.

Although it is a disheartening and poor rating, we would like to apologies for any unsatisfactory service that you received during your stay with us. Let me first say that we completely understand and share your frustration. It has been trying times in our country and in our city with load shedding and water restrictions. f on a very hot day you could not get it to cool down the room adequately. However, please note that it is imperative on especially hot days the windows are kept closed when air-condition is in use. It will otherwise take longer to cool down, if at all. We presume what might have happened during your stay, as you mentioned in your review, that load shedding did impact the air-conditions not working properly. This would unfortunately affect the air-conditions , as we cannot run them off our generator during the hours of outages, therefore the reception desk was correct to inform you air-condition is impacted severely during this period and very limited. We are very sad that this might, from time to time, affect the convenience of our guest's and we do really hope that load shedding will be a part of the past. But unfortunately its wishful thinking, as it also incurs a big cost to the overall running of a hotel, cost's we try not to roll over on our guest and shoulder ourselves. Furthermore you might be pleased to hear that we are looking into upgrading our air-condition systems but unfortunately due to Covid-19, capital expenditure, as previously mentioned, had to be put on hold. But we do value your input and take it seriously and will certainly do our best to upgrade as soon as possible. because we do pride ourselves on taking guest complaints to heart and this will ensure excellent service is always key to a returning guest. Hopefully by that time we will have rectified and resolved majority of the points you raised, ensuring you have an amazing experience. Hopefully our explanations has been satisfactory and put you at ease, if you have any other problems, issues or suggestions please feel free to pop us an email at revenue@paxton.co.za.Kindest RegardsThe Paxton Team

Dangerous shower
Well positioned on the beach front, comfortable room with sea view. Only gripe is that the shower door opened inwards and when you close it, it scoops all the water onto the bathroom floor. Is it legal to have a shower door opening inwards??
