Needs a good renovation
This hotel has seen better days. The beds were super comfy and clean, but the rest of the place was very run down, in need of a deep clean and repair. We were there several nights for a conference and didn't see more than two other guests the entire time. The bathroom door to our room didn't close properly and the water was lukewarm but never hot. The public areas were dirty, stained and worn out. The rooms were slightly better, but there was just a buildup on the grout and baseboards that made the place feel unclean.

The hotel itself was fine for a short stay but paying $200 per night we were dissapointed that the chair in the room was broken, toilet seat was not connected well and moved, adhesive spray on bathtub floor (assume to prevent slipping) continuously peeled off in the shower and clogged the drain.

You definitely get what you pay for. If you are doing short stay, it's a fine hotel, the rooms were adequately clean, but not fastidiously clean. The room was missing light bulbs and was in ill repair. A closet door was not cut properly and interacted with the floor making it imposibble to open all the way. Cardboard was used to fix the bathroom door strike plate. Not enough linens for the pull out bed. Dead bugs in the window and curtain area, and a odd odour in the room itself. Elevator made interesting noises, hallways were dark and hard to see in and the floors in the hallways had an interesting warped and bouncy construction. Ice machine out of order. Continental breakfast was mediocre at best. Don't set your expectations very high. The staff was friendly and smiling, which saves the review somewhat. it seems to be family owned and operated. The hotel is obviously old, and I feel if they invested in some bulk packs of light bulbs, it would do wonders for reviews. Our bathroom only had two out of five lightbulbs in the fixture. If you are just looking for a place close to the highway to sleep, this hotel is fine, but if you are expecting creature comforts, look elsewhere. It's a cheap hotel that looks like a cheap hotel. Overall I'd give this a solid 2.5 stars out of 5

We had a devastating family emergency. My son and I dropped everything to get here ASAP. I booked our room at 140 pm. Was on the way, I called the hotel at 630 pm while traveling, explained our situation and let them know we would be arriving between 2-3 am. Was told it was fine, I needed to check-in by 530 am. Traffic and construction delayed us on occasion. The hotel called at 1237 am and asked when I would be here because he was "waiting for me". Our ETA was 239. We were in Charleston WV. Construction delay again. We finally pull up at 327. The hotel CALLED AGAIN asking where I was. I told him, very aggravated, we were pulling up to the door right then. He seemed upset. I came in, he gave us our room card. The halls smelled similar to animal urine. We got to our room, opened the door and found the room had not been cleaned at all from the last occupants. Dirty towels, unmade beds. We went back to the desk. Told him I didn't appreciate being harassed on getting here to check in, but my room wasn't even clean! He mumbled about being sorry (after I showed him the video). We were placed in another room. Sheets and covers were stained. If we could have gone somewhere else, we would have. On day 2, our key was cutoff and was told checkout was 1100. Had to show proof of 3 days. Never again staying there!

Room was very clean but bathroom door would not latch as knob was in wrong spot to latch. Area around outside of hotel was very overgrown and needed mowed. Beds around side and back of hotel were full of weeds with not landscaping. Morning desk clerk had to to take care of desk and also breakfast area. She worked very hard but couldn't keep tables and breakfast area clean and supplied.

We'll make sure to have our maintenance staff address this issue. Furthermore, we apologize for the overgrown area around the outside of the hotel and the lack of landscaping around the back and side of the hotel. Staff friendly, property sidewalk needs repair & bed frame had protruding metal piece that I bumped & cut my leg on. Reported it to 3 service desk employees & still not fixed so left note for the maid after 3rd day on departure.
