Showed up and was told my reservation was “canceled” however I did not cancel it nor was I informed it was canceled. Luckily they were still able to book me a room. Very frustrating. Room smelled musty/moldy and not very clean. Will not be staying here again.

I am sorry that your reservation was cancelled the credit card you had on file may have declined, when this happens the reservation may be cancelled. If your room was unsatisfactory I did not hear about this until now.

ma'am this is a dog friendly hotel, you brought a cat, the cat was allowed to urinate and defecate all over the room, we have had to put the room out of order for at least a week to place an ozone machine in this room on order to rid the smell of cat urine and other unfriendly smells.you were charged the 150 fee because of the room damage and the amount of time that the room must be out of service.

Probably need to not have your employees smoking weed when you enter into the building. Trash bags laying at the end of the hallway for a few days. Remodeling needs to he done.

There was someone talking all night in an adjacent room. People coming and going all night. And there were bags of trash in the hallway that smelled disgusting.

Really dated - needs a renovation. Back door wasn't secure. Water was funny tasting and came out of the sink tap fast and loud. But, it served our easy in/out purposes and the price was right.

Not a bad value for the price
We booked this hotel mainly bc of the availability of a recliner for me to sleep in due to life-long back injuries, the reasonable price and close proximity to the University of IA hospital, where I am being treated for cancer. The room was clean and comfortable, front desk staff were very friendly and gladly brought us an extra blanket when we asked (we usually bring our own). This location also offers a continental breakfast. The only draw back was that we could hear every noise in the hall and there appears to be some long-term guests there, whom were making all of the noise. Also, there's quite a gap under the door and no weather stripping around it, which allowed for cigarette smoke to seep into our room from someone smoking out in the hall.

I stated here last year and this stay was slightly better than the last time. After 3 days, my room had not been serviced (no linens, trash removed, etc) I asked that the front desk and I was told that for anyone staying for an extended length of time, they only clean the room 1 time per week and that he would put a reminder in for housekeeping. While they did clean the room the following day, it was not touched again during my entire stay. I had to go to the desk and ask for clean towels, bags for my trash.The first few days there was plenty of food for the free breakfast, but the last few days, there was only cereal and waffles. They were also out of regular coffee for several days. Everytime that I went into the dining area for the breakfast, the coffee area was always messy with spills and wrappers from the sweeteners. They do allow pets (for an additional fee) which is nice The hotel is in a convenient location. Staff were friendlhy. I felt safe here.

Door locks weak at best. Uneven floors in rooms. No elevator at all. Key card system faulty and constantly have to have key card recharged. Front desk guy never in a hurry to help customer. So you wait till he is done with what he is doing on his phone or etc. Shower little better than a trickle.

Helpful caring staff
Staff was outstanding. The keycard equipment was not working and they couldn’t make keys for anyone, so they had staff at the ready to let everyone into their rooms at all hours. They were so apologetic, but there was nothing they could do about it, they did a great job solving the problem!

Our sink didn’t drain. The tub was dirty, discolored and old. There was obvious and poorly repaired water damage on our ceiling. No kleenex. Key card machine didn’t work so we had no room keys for 24 hours

The location is what I liked the most . As far as their customer service its terrible!! Thebedding smelled as though it hadnt been washed in a while! When i went to take a shower i noticed that the tub was clogged the water didnt exit at all the next morning i I didnt shower . I heard very large dogs barking loudly all times of night !! In other words I will give this hotel a 1 as a reference

I do apologize about your stay, I will speak to the front desk people immediately. I will have my maintenance person get the clog fixed asap now that it has been reported. We do allow dogs, if the dogs were a nuisance I could have spoke to the guest and asked them to please keep them as quiet as possible.please reach out to me if there is anything I can do.

Decent enough place. The hotel and rooms appear to be updated; nice decor. Some of the painting and trim is sloppy, but didn't affect our stay. Comfortable beds and furniture. The staff was outstanding! All three gentlemen at the front desk were friendly and professional. I enjoyed talking with them. The only negative thing is they do not have an elevator; stairs only to second and third floors. There is a ramp to the lower level room. They were nice enough to switch our room to the lower level to accommodate my issues with stairs.

You get what you pay for
The guys at the front desk were great. The room was not very clean. We had different types of blankets on the beds and it smelled like feet. ‘Breakfast’ was some packaged pastries and machine coffee, which was fine. There was a microwave and fridge in the room which was nice.
