The hotel was in ok condition, little hard for our driver to find. Had a generator so even with the power outages, the power stayed on.

Nice and helpful staff. Spacious king size room. Clean room. Nice food. Good view of the sea from the 4th floor restaurant. But construction work on the opposite building.

This property was certainly great value for money. Manager Janak, front desk assistant Rifaz and Sam the bellman were quite friendly and helpful. Ceylon City Hotel will certainly my fchoice of accommodation on future trips to Colombo.

Veldig hyggelig betjening. Innsjekking gikk fort og greit. Rommet var rent, men ganske mørkt. I tillegg til at det var en sterk lukt i rommet som ble litt tung

Clean and comfortable hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Is located south of the main hustle and bustle of Colombo, which we appreciated as it was very quiet. You can get a tuk tuk from end of the hotel's road to the main part of Colombo for 300 rupees; much preferable to staying amongst the constant stream of traffic and tooting horns of the centre.

Compared to other hotels in Colombo this hotel is ok, for this price this is one of the best but its a bit lower standard for a three star hotel. Hotels are expensive in colombo so this hotel is cheaper compared to other hotels of the same standard. Hotel is in between Galle Road and marine drive close to Majestic city, so the location is convenient. Hotel offer fast wifi and 24 hour room service

Good 3 star hotel compared to hotels in Colombo
Good hotel in a good location. staff are very friendly they offered late checkout free of charge since my flight was in evening. The only negative thing was the cleanses of the toilet specially the corners of the shower area. Food is tasty and cheaper compared to other hotels in Colombo

Small and clean, but somewhat overpriced.
The Hotel was clean, and the staff were very good and professional. The main shortcoming was that the room was quite small, and therefore not value for money. Two people cannot walk simultaneously next to the bed; it is tight even for one person . Having said that, if I were travelling by myself, I would stay there because a known place is better than an unknown one.

Das Personal an der Rezeption und beim Frühstück war sehr nett und bemüht, das war dann schon das einzig positive an diesem Hotel. Die Zimmer sowie im Flur roch es unangenehm gammlig. Laute Klimaanlage. Die Badezimmer sind mini und sehr ungepflegt. Überall verrostete, gammlige Gegenstände die man ungern anfasst. Im Badezimmer kam die Decke fast runter. Außerdem ist es wirklich sehr laut, Fensterscheibe war auch stellenweise defekt. Frühstück war ok. Wir haben 80€ für das Doppelzimmer bezahlt. Das ist für dieses Hotel definitiv zu viel.

Mr. Hamdan(Hotel receptionist) wanted me to go the club and he made me to spend over 30,000 rupy and also he wanted me to my cigareets everyday(I gave 3 packs of cigarettes to him)Most terrible thing was that I lent my sunglass which is Prada to his brother(we went to the club on that day) but he didnt give it back. I kept ask to bring it back but finally i couldnt see and talk to him. I really want to bring my sunglass back as soon as possible. Overall it was bad experience.

Used to be good, but now....
Stayed at Ceylon City Hotel spring 2015. At this moment the hotel was clean, the service was good and wifi was fast. After my last stay in desember 2015 the service was terrible, the wifi was Aamodt never working and I had to change room 3 times because of leakage and dirty linnens and toilets. This hotel has potential because of the location and lack of other hotel in that price range, but the owner should consider the management.

Small hotel with a great central location
First impressions of the hotel was rather drab as the hotel is situated in an alley, but the hotel staff and room comfort more than made up for it. I found baby cockroaches hiding behind furnitures, and my room safe did not work. Of the 7 days I was there, I found my backpack was ransacked on the first day by the cleaning staff. Nothing was lost but still left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Hotel breakfast was very simple, but the curries and dahl was amazing. Fresh and refreshing coconut juice every morning is definitely better than a cup of coffee. Tuktuks are plenty at the main road 1 minute walk from the hotel. If a driver does not know where the hotel is, just tell them to drive to Keels Super (a supermart) on Marine Drive, and turn and drive up into Upatissa road. If that does not work, tell them to drive to Majestic City (a mall) and the hotel is about 600m south. Overall, I would rate the hotel 3.5 out of 5. A definite come back if I'm on a budget.

全体的に満足
フォート駅からは歩いて行ける距離ではないが、バスを使えばメインストリートからすぐの距離なので、アクセスは比較的良好。 エアコン、冷蔵庫も完備しており、日本のビジネスホテルと変わらないクオリティです。 5部屋借りたのですが、そのうち1部屋のみ少しカビ臭い部屋があり、そのため清潔さの項目を3にしました。 全体的にかなり満足です。

Basis-Stadthotel in kleiner Seitenstraße
Das Hotel ist wie der Name schon sagt eine kleines Stadthotel. Es liegt in einer ebenso großen Nebenstraße, die man schnell übersieht. Es bietet solide Zimmer welche für 1-2 Übernachtungen alles beinhalten. Der Zustand von allem ist recht gepflegt aber nichts außergewöhnliches. Einzig dem Bad hat man einige Gebrauchsspuren angesehen. Der Service und das Personal waren hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Ebenfalls das Frühstück im Dachrestaurant bietet eine gelungene Verpflegung. Einzige Mankos waren die Sauberkeit der Betten sowie die Technik im Zimmer also TV und Licht. Für einen Kurzaufenthalt in Colombo völlig ausreichend.

This hotel is only about 7 months old and located near enough to the city attractions. Car and tuk tuk drivers seemed to have great difficulty in finding it. Even the local police station could not help. I was disappointed with the location as there a smelly factory next door which did not look like it was about to be closed or renovated. I found the staff to be charming and very helpful. They were keen to make good any complaints about anything. They were always professional in their approach and very friendly. The food was very disappointing, I did mention that their chef cannot cook and one or two staff agreed with me!! The rooms was basically clean. Plenty of dust and disrepair behind bed and furniture.

If you just need a bed, go for it!
Rooms are dark and complicated without any view whatsoever. Our room had a window that opened inside the hotel gallery, no outside view at all + They gave us a sad alacarte breakfast since they did not have enough people for buffet breakfast. We preferred staying out of hotel till late night and using it only for sleep.

A 'cool' place to stay
Fairly new hotel when we stayed in March 2015 so hotel not known to many tuk tuk drivers coming from the airport. However it is situated in a lane between the two main roads and therefore easy to walk to main road for something to eat or to hire a tuk tuk. The air conditioning in the bedroom was outstanding, the hotel nice and clean and the breakfast ok serving a mixture of local and western food buffet style. All in all a perfectly good place to stay in the city.
