Room was not ready

Les + : Queen beds were comfortable. We like to stay at hotels with continental breakfast.
Les - : Rooms need more electrical outlets outside the bathrooms. Loud air conditioner woke us up, and did not cool both sides of the room equally.
Situation : It was a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Charleston and beaches. Would like to have been closer.
When we arrived, our room had not been cleaned. We were put in another room with different bedding arrangements than we had reserved. We had no choice but to stay there the first night. The 2nd day we had to pack up all our belongings and move to another room that was like the one we had reserved. Staff was very nice through all of this, but our first night was uncomfortable because of the sleeping arrangement.

Good one night stay.

Les + : This Hotel was very ho-hum.
Les - : It is very lifeless. It needs some minor renovation. New carpet, curtains and bedding would give this hotel the life it needs.
Situation : This hotel was a 15-20 drive from Fort Sumter. We also visited the beach, which was a lovely way to spend the evening.
This was just a one night stay, but sleep is very important on vacation. I just could not get comfortable here. I had to make up my sleep on the road while my husband drove. He had a great night's sleep. The bed was pretty nice though. The breakfast was OK. There were eggs but no other meat. I am gluten intolerant, so this limited my choices more than I like. The room also smelled like hamster bedding. There is nothing memorable about it.

In town for wedding

Situation : Were there for wedding.
Hotel was a very welcome surprise. It was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was much more extensive that we had anticipated. All around very relaxing and good surroundings. Would stay there again and would recommend.

Greater than expected!

Joanne was so amazing! She made the entire trip so warming & welcoming. Check in/check out was quick and easy. The complimentary breakfast was fully stocked and much more than we thought it would be. Our room was very clean and the beds were so comfy, we hardly wanted to leave. Great stay and not a bad drive to downtown.

Country Inn & Suites was an nice hotel. The only problem I had was the pool. I thought that for the price it could have been a little bigger. I had teenagers with me and they were not pleased with it, but I also had a few younger ones so it was just right for them. Just trying to please everyone with the pool was difficult, but they enjoyed it. As an adult a jacuzzi would have been nice. (Just saying).The room was clean, and the front desk staff was helpful and nice. There was a group of us and they kept us close. I would definitaley visit again!!

Mostly satisfied except the bed linens did not look freshly washed. Staff was courteous and hotel was quiet at night.

very poorly maintained hotel

Very poor experience, which resulted in my family checking out after 1 night of a planned 2 night stay. The room was in terrible condition with multiple stains on the matress. In my time there, I saw others complain to management and saw a number of "non-guests" occupy the lobby area. Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in

Compared to other hotels in the area, this was a good value for the money. Nice clean rooms, and kids really enjoyed the indoor pool. Breakfast was ok, and free so can't complain. Convenient location. Would definitely recommend.
