This was without a doubt one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. The hotel reeked of weed and cheap cologne/ perfume. The air conditioner didn’t work and was hot in the room. The pullout couch bed was broken and without sheets or blankets.

I was greeted by an unfriendly man who scolded me for booking a handicapped room online. I told him it was an accident, i used expedia and just chose the first and cheapest room available. The rooms were kind of dingy and there were pieces of door hinges (a cap and some kind of spring) on the floor. One of the locking mechanisms was also broken. The breakfast was pretty good, but i would not stay here again.

Great place to stop on our trip to Florida. It was clean and staff was friendly. The room wasn't the best. TV didn't work and you could see daylight all around the door. The elevator is very slow and got stuck a few times. It was fine for what we needed but if I was staying longer I would find someplace else

It was fine. The usual occasional ladybug that's pretty common in that area. I was in late and out early. At check- in the guy was pretty nice but honestly, if a guy is checking in after 9 pm he's probably not looking for a long conversation. I just wanted to go to get some sleep. Not complaining, it's just a "read the room" opportunity. If you're pulling a trailer or in a big truck like I was, know that the place is at the top of a substantial hill. It wasn't a problem for me but if you're barely getting around or it's slick out, you might not make it.

Be aware before you book.
Experience was very unprofessional/Concerning. there is a huge message when making the reservations that your card want be charged before arriving; That was not my case. I received an alert that my CC had been charged for the full amt of the room. I called my CC company I advised them that I didn't give this permission, when i arrived the lady was not very knowledgeable as to what to do when something like this happens mind you she knew who i was based off giving her my name she had just reviewed her system and it had me down as paid I stated to her that No the payment was not authorized and infact ive canceled the card due to there deceptive practices to charge my card before arrival and that i would pay with another CC card. she had to call the manager/owner to see if she could move forward with the reservations he told her No because I called my Ccd company and canceled the card due to this activity in which I never approved. Because I questioned thier actions i was not allowed to stay which was best given the service received; we were able to secure a better location with years of experience and several locations.when I've stayed here in the 2023 I never authorized permission to process my card through there other business(which is a Jewelry business-I reported to my bank) these businesses are using other business possibly overseas to take your payment. I was told by the young female that they were no longer using that company to process the transactions. Be-aware!!!

Complete RipOff This hotel charged us twice and refused to refund the money. The manager of the hotel was always unavailable and would not return phone calls.

We see that your reservation was booked thru Expedia and was a hotel collect reservation, per our policy we were unable to collect full amount on the card provided during reservation booking so we had to 2nd night stay on another card. Don't Pay Twice/Compare Rates Hotel.com vs Hotel
Overall everything was good. At check-in I was asked to show my card ( payment method) which the guy swiped causing me to pay twice. My reservation was prepaid through Hotels.com so I didn't understand his reason for swiping the card again. At this time the refund has not been refunded. And per the front desk wokers refunds take 24 hours. Again I still have not received my refund. The location was a plus, the room was clean, the bed was comfy, and the breakfast was "not my preference". I would stay here again. The rate was actually cheaper ($40) if I would have book directly with the hotel.

My daughter and I enjoyed the stay. The beds were comfortable. The room was clean. The staff were friendly. I would stay here again when visiting family in Gardendale. It’s away from the main area so it’s quiet.
