The staff was super friendly. The room was dirty and dated. There were hardly any other guests, so it was nice and quiet. The continental breakfast was not great, there was little to choose so we ended up having to dine out.

Very nice stay. Facility in good repair. Breakfast is skimpy but expected level. No dumbbells in exercise room but treadmill worked fine. Would stay here again.

There is a strange Indian man that appear to be a friend of the owner. And every time me and my wife and daughter entered the hotel he would stair at my wife and daughters in a very creepy way. Also if you don't know there are mirrors on the entire wall behind the beds. Very creepy.

Bedding was extremely stained and hair/ dirt under bedding. Front desk assistant walked in on someone checking if a room was available for us to move to. Had to move 3 times before finding a room that was ok.

Check in was quick and easy. Room was clean, hot water, microwave and fridge. Free showtime. Usb jack were broken but the front desk gave me a charger. Wifi wasn’t great. Couldn’t stream anything that’s why 4 stars not 5. Room was small as expected. Price was good.

Nice place to stay
Overall it was a great stay, the staff were friendly and helpful. If I were to wish for something to make the stay a bit better it would have to be the fact that the toilet was less than 18 inches off the floor. I am shorter than the average person and I even found it difficult to sit on and stand back up from the toilet. In contrast the height of the bed was so high I had to jump and scramble up to get onto the bed. This was resolved by the kind front desk employee who provided me with a step.

Pictures on Expedia are terribly misleading. The facility inside and out is very rundown. Our door had a 1” gap at bottom to hall and peep hole was plugged with orange foam earplug.

I stayed in the single queen bed room It was smaller than I’m used to for hotel rooms, but setup so nicely! I especially loved the mirrored headboard and the window seat. Ok hotel
This hotel was “ok”. The front desk worker was slow, but very friendly- but to be fair, it was busy when we checked in. Our room was pretty basic and the bedding seemed ok, but the throw pillows had unknown stains on them. The toilet in our bathroom would only work occasionally…. And other times the system would stick in the tank and not fill up. They did offer a basic continental breakfast, which was “ok.” With other hotel options available in the area, I do not believe we will stay here again.

Always a good stay at the Ames Microtel! I would like it if they changed the front entry, but not that big of deal.
