Great location if you go to Akureyri
The property was super clean and easy for the check-in. The location and the view were great and matches totally the add online. We enjoyed our time there. Plenty of places to walk and enjoy the view. We were lucky to celebrate national day with theocals!

Excellente location
Tout est très bien dans cette location : Emplacement en centre ville, proche de tous les commerces. Immeuble très calme avec très belle vue sur la baie. Équipements standards pour cuisiner. très bon couchage. Possibilité de parking gratuit à proximité. Deux vélos à disposition pour les déplacements proches. Bonne communication avec le propriétaire par mail ou sms. Juste petit bémol, la fenêtre du salon qui donne sur un chemin piétonnier, avec du passage régulier, mais possibilité de fermer le rideau.

Well equipped, although missing shampoo in the bathroom. Could use written instruction on TV, as we never managed to turn it on. Free parking is not available weekdays from 10 AM to 4 PM, although you can park a bit further down the street, away from paid parking zone. Kitchen facilities (stove, fridge & microwave) are nice to have.

perfect location / wonderful place
Access to everything Akureyri has to offer. Wonderful space with a bonus open terrace to relax and take in a spectacular view. Host was most responsive and on point. Definitely would recommend!

Das Apartment hat uns gut gefallen. Es war alles vorhanden. Die Lage ist perfekt zentral und trotzdem ruhig. Das warme Wasser muss man erst einmal voll aufdrehen, sonst wird es nicht warm und das Geschirr nicht sauber. Das Bett könnte mal ausgetauscht werden. Ansonsten empfehlenswert.

Read This Before Booking
We had an issue when we arrived which I will not go into it, but it prevented us from staying the first evening we had booked. Gudni took a few hours to get a hold of, which was frustrating, however, I do want to give him credit for addressing our issue promptly after we were in contact with him. I feel he treated us fairly and and did what he could to make the situation the best it could be. I am grateful to him for handling things professionally on his end, however, this being said, I wish we had stayed somewhere else and would not stay here again. The issue mentioned ate up a ton of our time and caused a lot of stress. I was on the phone with VRBO, with Gudni, shuffling luggage around, etc. etc. It was just a giant time suck on a vacation with limited time to begin with and time is not something I can get back, so it's never worth it to me to be in this position. Next, I want to clarify this "smell" everyone is talking about. There are two things at play here: 1) The hot water all over Iceland smells of sulfur. This will be the same at all properties unless they have a tankless hot water heater. I have no problem with the smell of sulfur, HOWEVER . . . 2) The smell in Gudni's place is not just from sulfur but also from septic waste. I do not to be rude, but it very disgusting to my husband and I. We did not want to be in the apartment at all because of it. I even bought a candle to try and mask it but it wasn't very effective. In the bathroom near the toilet there is a metal grate on the floor, when you flush the toilet you can see the water moving right under the grate. Long story short it's basically like an open septic system and it smells as you would imagine. This is not a smell that we just "got used to" as others have mentioned. The building also has areas which smell of smoke when you are walking through, however, this smell is not present in the actual apartment. The apartment is well laid out but the bed is older and was uncomfortable for us. You sink into it and roll into the middle if you have two people sharing it. Some light bulbs were burned out so it was a bit dark in the evening. A window handle was broken. The balcony is great, the location is great, however, we couldn't get over the other issues mentioned and do not recommend staying here. We are not high maintenance or luxury travelers and our other stays in Iceland were in hostels or shared spaces. I hope this gives some context for my review.

Loved Gudni’s studio apartment!
We were thrilled to be at Gudni’s place! It was so centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere in Akuryeri! The views were great, he had all amenities needed, and Gudni was prompt and easy to communicate with. When the sofa bed is pulled out, it’s a tight area - but well worth having to squeeze in at night for the awesome location!

Great location and value
This place was great for its amazing views out three directions, PERFECT location, good value, and washer/dryer which was critical to have halfway through our trip. The shower was stopped up and leaking and a bathmat would have been helpful (the towels were big and the linens clean and comfortable). Be sure to park further away from town; you’ll get a ticket if you park in front of the building. There is a bad smell as somebody else mentioned but you get used to it right away. The place was quiet and clean. Space was tight for three people when sleeping so two might be best. Gudni answered his phone and was generally helpful; I didn’t receive check-in instructions until I asked twice. Calling him vs. sending a message is better. I would recommend this place and we enjoyed our stay in Akureyri!

Perfect home base in Akureyri
Gudni’s place was clean and comfortable, with lots of natural light. It was close to restaurants, shops, the city pool (which you should check out) and the botanical gardens. It had everything we needed. Definitely recommend it.

Everything about this place is perfect!
I don’t want to say too much because I want to repeat my stay next summer and I want it to be available! It’s small but extremely well appointed and impeccably clean. All the best restaurants are within walking distance. The Akureyri pool is nearby and one of the best in Iceland. And when you aren’t off exploring things nearby, the outdoor deck is wonderful for relaxing!

Great location and view
This is a great location in the center of an active area in Akureyri. Being on the fifth floor offers a great view and gives you a sense of privacy at the same time. We had a short delay in checking in because I did not receive the instructions. I’m not sure if it was a problem with the Vrbo app or an oversight by the owner. Regardless, the location and amenities outweighed any problem we had at the beginning. We were able to do laundry which was a great plus in the middle of our trip. Restaurants are all within walking distance and the licorice ice cream is amazing!! Akureyri is a perfect base for exploring the region. I highly recommend this place.

Beautiful studio in a great location in Akureyri
This was a lovely and relaxing stay. The bed is very comfortable and the blinds on all the windows help with sleeping when the sun barely sets! The balcony was wonderful for breakfast, and to watch a gorgeous full moon rise. The apartment is a short distance from the amazing Akureyri pool complex, and steps from fun restaurants, coffee shops, bars, and the Art Museum. The gorgeous cultural center and concert hall, Hof, is a short walk away along the water. Gudni was helpful and responsive. We hope we will be back!

Fabulous studio in the heart of Akureyri
I greatly enjoyed my time in this wonderful studio. Communication with the owner was fast and easy to understand. The location of the property makes it even better, it is a short walk from restaurants, shopping, and everything you need. I love the town of Akureyri and will happily stay here again the next time I visit!

Tolle Lage zentral in Akureyri. Allerdings etwas renovierungsbedürftig. Das Schlafsofa extrem unbequem, das Bett ebenso. Aus dem Badezimmer kommt aus den Wasserleitungen extremer Gestank heraus. Die Wasserleitung in der Küche blubbert die ganze Nacht der Kühlschrank macht Nachts Geräusche, die an quatschende Trolle erinnern. Die Küche ist wirklich nur mit dem allernötigsten ausgestattet. Die Dusche läuft nicht ab, der Fernseher funktioniert nicht. Alles mit Gudni besprochen, der sich wirklich sehr gut und prompt gekümmert hat. Die Mängel sind teilweise behoben, bis aus den Gestank aus den Leitungen. Das Apartment ist trotzdem wirklich zweckmäßig, ein guter Ausgangspunkt für alle Ausflüge in den Norden und alle Geschäfte in der Nähe.

Urlaub in Akureyri
Das Studio liegt sehr zentral in Hafennähe. Im 5. Stock gelegen, kann man über den Fahrstuhl oder gleich oben am Hang in das Studio gelangen. Vom Küchen- / Wohnzimmer gibt es einen traumhaften Ausblick auf den Fjord. Der Vermieter hat sehr fürsorglich auf die Bedingungen für die Unterkunft hingewiesen. Es stehen auch Fahrräder zur Verfügung, die wir allerdings nicht ausprobiert haben. Wir konnten unseren Aufenthalt dehr genießen. Vielen Dank an Gudni!

Ruhiges, zentrumsnahes Appartement
Der Gesamteindruck dieses Objekts kann als gut bewertet werden. Es liegt ruhig und zentrumsnah mit Ausblick auf den Hafen. Leider ließ die Sauberkeit (im Bad) etwas zu wünschen übrig und auch die Ausstattung der Küche könnte besser sein. So fehlte z. B. unter anderem eine Kaffeekanne.

Ein gemütliches Appartement mitten in Akureyri mit einer sehr schönen Aussicht. Wir haben dort zu dritt acht Tage gewohnt und hatten alles dabei und sehr ordentlich, um uns selbst versorgen zu können. An Sikvester hatten wir einen super Aussichtsplatz für das große Feuerwerk und all die kleinen folgenden. Wir können das Appartement nur weiterempfehlen.

Gut eingerichtete Ferienwohnung mit Blick auf den See und die Berge. Auch guter Ausgangspunkt, um die Stadt und die Umgebung zu erkunden. Kostenlose Parkplätze stehen fußläufig zur Verfügung, ein Aufzug im Haus erleichtert den Gepäcktransport bei der Anreise und Abreise in die 5. Etage. Fahrräder sind jetzt ebenfalls inklusive, haben sie aber nicht geschafft zu benutzen...

Great apartment in fantastic location.
This place is better than the pictures. It is a bright clean studio perfect for a vacation stay. The location is right in downtown Akureyri and so you can walk to both restaurants and food carts. I would stay here again.

I stayed here for the entire month of February, 2018. Perfect size, good location. Walking distance to most restaurants, several grocery stores, the gym, the pool, the Akureyrarkirkja, shopping, and Brynja. Good view of both the church, and the southern fjord. I had a bit of trouble with the shower draining, but it was addressed and absolutely everything else was great.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!
The studio apartment was a fantastic place to call home for 3 nights in the middle of our 12 day trip around Iceland. Located in the center of the small city of Akerueri we could not have asked for a better location. Everything was within walking distance, and the apartment had everything we needed to enjoy our stay there. Lots of good places to eat, walk and swim in the area.

Tolle Fewo in Akureyri !
Die Fewo, in der wir 5 Nächte verbrachten ist unbedingt empfehlenswert. Zentrale Lage; in einem 5stöckigen Haus: oberstes Stockwerk, mit kleiner Terrasse und von dort und aus der Wohnung einen herrlichen Ausblick auf die Stadt und die umliegende Landschaft. Perfekt ausgestattet. Alles Notwendige vorhanden. Dazu ein sehr netter und informativer Mail-Kontakt zum Vermieter. Ein einziger Verbesserungsvorschlag: der Kasten, in dem der Schlüssel sich befindet, ist schwer zu öffnen. - Sehr guter Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge. Wichtige Geschäfte in unmittelbarer Nähe.

Perfectly situated
This holiday apartment with a fair price is perfectly situated right in the center of Akureyri. Akureyri is very small but there is one "shopping street" and the apartment is located right at the beginning of that. We had a fantastic view every morning and felt comfortable. Everything is there, even a washing machine! What we didn't like was the bed (too small & soft). Everything else was perfect; we loved the internet radio. The tour operators found us easily and you can see the glittering Eyjafjord through the windows. Akureyri is an extraordinarily beautiful region in Iceland, very lush vegetation and quiet. If you choose to go there, as a couple, choose Gudnis apartment! :-) He is very patient & kind; I changed the dates several times because it was difficult to choose our tours and the flights (45min. from/to Reykjavik). He kept replying quickly. We recommend the Myvatn tour with Fab Travel and the jeep tours with Iceak!

Wonderful Apartment
First off, the owner immediatly replied for every question I had and was very helpful and friedly. Thank you for that! The apartment is located perfectly in Akureyri, so that you can walk to the nearest cafe in 30 seconds or go to the harbor in a minute. You couldnt ask for a better location. Everything was tidy and prepared, so we had a wonderful time there without any incidents or complaints. I highly recommend the apartment for everyone.
