One of our rooms smelled off cigarettes, the window was open and ash on the toilet seat, not nice when you are not a smoker and meant to be clean. The other room was spotless and a great size. So mixed bag here. Bar inside is very expensive and not a big selection, same with food options. Did for a one night stay, couldn't stay longer

I have stayed here a few times, friend got married there, now it's not nice, staff on reception are none talkative, the roo 522 no heating, windowsill outside rained noise drip all night, bed OK Just very tired, everything is extra I woke up went to loo, came bk teeth chattering, bed leg wheel front left bear window broke People in and out rooms all night every 20 mins, feels like ready to knock down and build houses in a very nice area Such a shame

Clean and comfortable.
The Reception staff were not very attentive or friendly which did not create a good first impressions but all other staff were, particularly the housekeeping staff. The room was clean and comfortable and had everything required. The hotel was very quiet and the food was excellent. The pool was great.

Good value hotel
Looked very pretty driving up to the hotel in the dark and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. Check in was quick and easy, the receptionist was very pleasant. The room was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.

Okay for a night, nothing more.
The first impressions were quite good for a Britannia hotel. However in our bedroom there was smelly water in the sink and the plug did not operate. When we reported it we were told that there was no maintenance people to repair it

Car park is long overdue some touch ups. There was a Christmas display on the left as I walked in and I can only assume that it had sat there since the previous year since it hadn't even been Halloween yet at this point. There were also belt barriers haphazardly placed everywhere and it is usually obvious where the resturant is for breakfast but it was far from clear in this situation. The whole foyer just looked dated and I bet that carpet hadn't been cleaned since the opening of this hotel. I checked in and paid for my parking which I think is a little appalling considering I was staying at the hotel. The room itself was just as tired and unappealing as the rest of the hotel. One of the drawers opened but you had to lift it to put it back in. The vinyl looked like it had come off the edge of the desk or it was just that old it looked that way. The desk also had a lovely lamp that didn't work. The lights by the beds looked like they were hanging on for dear life and just random damage to the walls in the wardrobe along with poor paint patch jobs. Also the Wifi was extortionate, I mean who charges for Wifi these days and it didn't even work! Bathroom was tired too and tiling grout was cracked. There were a few signs of black mould here and there. Overall not a hotel I would be returning to if I were to be paying any sum of money. The breakfast was surprisingly good though I have to admit but that is about it. It just felt dirty, even if it was clean.

The restaurant should open fulltime in the evening
I was there for 2 days on training at another venue. The only thing that disappointed me was the reduced food menu in the evening . It would have been nice to come back to a nice dinner after a long day in training. There also needs to be clearer signs stating that rooms are no longer cleaned daily, and you need to speak to reception if you need anything

Airport shuttle doesn’t exist
The biggest issue was that on Hotels.com website it says airport shuttle for £12. I tried to reserve this when checking in and apparently not available for me, then would reserve a taxi for £17, paid in cash, and felt a bit of a scam. Staff member was dismissive and uncaring. Room felt tired. The ultra modern light fitting was covered in spider webs and didn’t match the dated decor. The bathroom tap wasn’t fixed to the sink. There was the most light spill around the room door I’ve ever seen - including from the peephole, which didn’t have a cover. No plug next to the bed to charge your phone. Otherwise it was adequate for a night before a flight.

Convenient for buses to Leeds Otley and Ilkley so was and ideal situation for what we wanted to do and Bramhope is a lovely village
