I chose this hotel because of it’s lovely looks from the outside and the rooms when I got there it was fantastic. The dining options were very good and although a little bit more than I like to pay I really enjoyed it.

Nice period style hotel with an extension including spa and extra rooms. Would definitely avoid rooms 25-29 as they are over a conference suite. We had a noisy karaoke until midnight on the first night. Breakfast very good and there is a separate car park by the spa if you are in the new rooms. A room in the older part of the house would be my preference if we returned.

I stayed with my partner in the Stable Rooms. Thought it a bit strange at first but really enjoyed the quietness. The only set back was having to walk into the main Hotel Restaurant for our breakfast and meals, especially, during our stay, it rained heavily for a couple of evenings. We weren't overly put off, but it could become an issue to some! Overall the place is beautiful & in a lovely location.

The receptionist were incredibly helpful when booking a room last minute. The room was large and the bed even more so. The food for dinner and breakfast was very enjoyable. Spa facilities were very good. It was just my 9 month old baby and I. It was a bit confusing getting from room to restaurant, or room to spa. I think the signage could be made clearer - especially if I was avoiding going outside to access the spa. There wasn’t any support offered to me for carrying things, in terms of balancing bags and baby.

Didn’t feel like much of a spa. Hot tub was out of order and spa showers smelt bad and area felt dirty. Food took over 1.5 hour to arrive after ordering and wine after food. Food was very average, small portions of dry meat and cost £20 for a this. Staff were polite and apologised for the delay. Felt that the wine should have been taken off the bill as I’d mostly finished my food by the time it arrived. Prepare your expectations and don’t get excited about the “spa”.

Happy relaxing hotel
One of the biggest things we noticed was how happy and friendly all of the staff were… the house keepers, bar staff, waiting on staff and front of house staff making the experience of staying in the hotel very enjoyable.

Great check in and late dinner reservation organised by the front desk. Dining team were quite hassled in the Oak Room but still managed to remain professional. Room clean quiet and comfortable. Staff were ok. Booked a privilege room. Had to change rooms as first room was dirty and had no where to sit and a small double bed in a huge room. Got moved to a better looking room with a sofa very grateful but no robes and slippers like the other room. The place is inconsistent and cheap but I didn’t pay much as used a free reward night. So I got what I paid for
Huge room so put in tiny bed and hide the in the corner so it’s uncomfortable to watch 👍

The area is lovely, it's of space and nice views. We attended a party and stayed overnight in the stables building. Rooms very spacious, although decor a bit outdated, sticky iron plug etc. However bed was very comfortable and slept good. The biggest disappointment was no hot water in the shower (I can't have baths due to my condition). Staff offered to move us, however at midnight I wasn't keen to do that, therefore disappointingly could not have a shower. Also hotel would benefit from designated smoking area as a lot of people seem to smoke by the main entrance and that carries around the grounds, which for non smokers is very off-putting.

Amazing staff - front desk helped sort supper order out just before the kitchen closed. Really appreciated him fetching a menu so I could order and then take my bag to my room whilst supper was been prepared. Little gesture but really appreciated. Good gym facility too.

Magnificent older estate/school property that has been transformed into a modern spa like experience. The bar was cozy and the dining room friendly and tasty. Really enjoyed the multi-room thermal studio and pool area, they were both very classy. Was visiting the area coordinating some bereavement and this was just what the Dr ordered.

Lovely visit for 1 night leisure break. Spa facilities excellent with very attentive staff. Other users of the facility, were the most communicative I have ever encountered. They actually engaged in conversations. Bar staff helpful and ensure our needs were met with food order. My only gripe was the walk from the lower ground ungraded rooms to the spa in bed slippers, via the bar. It is now referred to our walk of shame. All in all, great location, staff and facilities. Will dure to heading back soon, armed with a pair of transfer footwear

Nice hotel, clean if you get a good housekeeper
If i would have rated this on the first room we were given on check in it would have been 0's, this was due to the room not being cleaned, dirty cups, dirty bin, dirty glasses, we walked out of the room within 1 minute, went to reception and got given an upgrade. The 2nd room was beautiful, but didnt have a bath, this is why i chose the room i did originally, but i couldnt be bothered to go back to reception as it wasnt a quick, easy trip. The restaurant was fully bokked for the evening so we had to eat in the bar, we ordered curry and were given 1/2 a poppadom each with the curry ( strange), but it tasted good. The spa was great, even though the one day the jacuzzi was out of action as it had been cleaned, so that was disappointing, dont know if we will stay again.

A Chilly Stay!
My wife and I both thought the hotel was lovely, but my wife felt the room was too cold for her. This was due to the fact the radiator wasn't working. I raised this issue, together with the phone not connecting, to the front desk and the receptionist said he'd deal with it straightway. We left for the day, but upon our return, nothing had happened. I contacted the ladies on reception about it and they seemed unaware of the issues, but said they would sort it. Again we went out for the day and returned late, with nothing having been resolved and no feedback received. It was too late to sort and we were leaving the next morning. When we checked out, the same ladies were on duty, but said nothing about our issue and asked us nothing about our stay, which we thought was quite unusual. We thought there might have been some minor adjustment for the inconvenience of having had three cold nights in our room, but nothing was said. Consequently, I simply settled our bill and left. Very poor service!

Lovely stay
Overall a lovely stay. Room was clean and bed was huge and comfortable, couldn't ask for more. Staff were friendly and helpful and helped with any enquiries Came for a birthday treat for my partner and she was happy, spa facilities included is a nice bonus! If I had to be picky, it would've been nice to have a lakeside view from the room, as we were staying on the 'Lakeside' wing of the hotel, but our view was just a car park at the back of the building which was slightly disappointing.
