This hotel is undergoing a much needed renovation. Our room was dismal, the toilet broke twice while we were there. The furniture was outdated and mismatched, the bed was hard and the heating unit was so loud we had to turn it off. I hope the renovations turn this building back into what it once was, a charming vintage building. In the meantime, best to book a stay elsewhere. The staff was kind and friendly, they are doing their best to keep guests happy, but a difficult task given the conditions of the building.

Selina,Thank you for the kind words about our staff. They'll be happy to know their efforts were noticed, even in the midst of the ongoing project. As part of the project we'll be replacing several of the mechanical components in the rooms as well as updating the bathrooms. The guestrooms will be also be getting all new furniture. I hope you'll consider staying with us again once the work is complete. I think you'll find it better than it ever was!

The front desk employee and the employees on the phone were extremely helpful and went above and beyond for me and my friends when we arrived early to check in. Will definitely book again!

Brad,My apologies for the unappealing pullout couch. We almost always recommend our deluxe rooms with two queen beds for parties of 4. Also, we're currently in the process of renovating the hotel and replacing all the furniture in the guestrooms. I hope that once the project is complete, you may consider staying with us again.

This is definitely not as described or pictured on the web site. The bathroom is very old with rusty tub and drain with no shower enclosure or curtain. We were notified at check-in and not ahead of time that the water would be off during the major part of the following day beginning at 11:00 am. They are doing a renovation of the property which was not noted ahead of time. Very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel.

As you know, we're in the process of making several improvements to the property, and we are making every effort to have the work be minimally impactful to our guests along the way. I'm very sorry for the inconvenience caused by the water shut off as well. It's unfortunate that unanticipated mechanical work is sometimes necessary when restoring an historic building. I hope that once the project is complete, you may consider giving us another chance to offer the type of experience we strive to provide.

The staff was amazing during our stay they were very kind and attentive. Location is great to walk and find fun restaurants. The building itself is a wonder aesthetic. We had a wonderful stay!

We stayed 2 nights. This hotel was clean, charming and quiet. It is in a great neighborhood that is very walkable to everything we wanted to do. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

The historic building is a fun quirk about staying here. It’s the same age as our house so we weren’t bothered, but if you need new & fancy, might want to choose another.

The staff was accommodating and the rooms are huge. That being said, this hotel is dark—as in haunted. Not in the sense that I saw ghosts or spirits but in the heavy vibration and sense of hopelessness that overcame me after spending only a few minutes in the room. You might think it is fun to stay in a haunted space. This was not fun, there were no jumpscares. It was just — hard to describe and Well, awful. I checked out a night early and stayed on a friend’s couch. If you are spiritually or psychically sensitive at all I do not recommend this hotel. I feel bad writing this review because the staff was very kind, particularly the valets. Big plus for the hotel is that it has free valet which is awesome.

I loved the woodwork. This hotel is 106 years old... if only the walls could talk. The grand staircase was breathtaking.

Staff were all amazing! So friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. Also, anyone who is planning on attending a game at Climate Change Arena- took us less than 5 minutes to walk there. Highly recommend!!

Love this place!
We always enjoy the MarQueen. It our go-to when needing to stay in Seattle. The staff is always kind and welcoming. The valet, secure parking is a great bonus. The area is walkable for food, entertainment and necessities. The Victorian ambience is so fun! Love the MarQueen!

Great old hotel that was likely apartments at one time. Awesome if you are into subway tile, tall ceilings, and built-ins. If you want modern, this is not your place. Gorgeous stairway and lobby, no elevator.

Perfect Location
The location of this place is hard to beat if you are looking at spending time in Seattle Center. It's only a mile walk to downtown and nearby public transit options make it easy to get around town. I enjoyed the unique qualities of this hotel and feel it was a great choice as someone staying in town for several days. The kitchenette area, small lounge space and comfortable bed gave me enough space to hang out and not feel cramped. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys a place with character!

Disappointing service
When we arrived, our reservation wasn't in the system for some reason. I had booked through Hotels.com, so I simply re-booked on my phone. Yarumi was the front desk clerk and was less than pleasant. She seemed irked that we booked through a 3rd party site. We had gold status and VIP access, when I asked if there was a room upgrade available (as listed), she snapped that we had free valet, which was a separate perk. We've stayed here many times and won't be back.
