Spa is lovely, room extremely comfortable- very quiet tranquil environment and Seaham itself is a sweet little seaside town.

Pampered and luxurious
When we got the chance to stay here to make up for our honeymoon being spoilt by the Beast from the East, we knew we'd enjoy it as we'd been here to use the spa in the past. What we didn't know was just what a superb treat a stay here is. It was amazing. From the warm welcome and friendly and courteous check-in to the little things – such as the free pillow spray that was left while we were having dinner – this was a perfect stay. We enjoyed the spa as ever (although some people don't understand that relaxing means not shouting at the top of your voice to friends!) and our meal in the fabulous Ozone restaurant. But it was the room, the private garden and the way we were made to feel special that really made this break one to remember.

Very Nice Hotel and Spa
Super stay.Excellent Spa with superb facilities.The staff were extremely curtious and helpful. My wife and I wish it was closer as we would love to visit more regularly

Ebookers made mistake of falsely advertising garden terrace suite with personnel hot tub. We were extremely disappointed to find only one room has the hot tub, and is clearly highlighted on seaham hall website, but misleading on ebookers web site. I would of paid extra to get the garden terrace suite with hot tub if available, but it was already accomodated. As a result ebookers spolit my wife's 30th birthday. Seaham hall staff very friendly.

Peaceful relaxing weekend
I took my daughter for a long weekend to celebrate her birthday, the room was lovely with access to allow us to have our coffee in the garden even in November, We dined at both the Ozone & Byrons Restaurant & the food was excellent. We made great use of the facilities available in the spa & enjoyed 3 hours each of wonderful massage & facials. Beds & bedding were personal to our needs & extremely comfortable. We shall definitely return

Very pricey and didn't live up to its billing!
A hotel that has real potential to wow but, sadly, its rooms are a little dated and the furnishings somewhat tired. Very pricey, so was expecting something extraordinary and truly sumptuous but the hotel didn't really live up to this. The restaurant and public rooms appear more recently decorated but some of the bedrooms, I think, need a proper makeover and the public carpet in the purpose-built bedroom annexe desperately needed changing. The restaurants were very pleasant (both in the main house and in the spa) and the food good quality, albeit quite traditional, heavy choices (in the main hotel) with an uninspiring vegetarian option. Spa treatments were pleasant but unexceptional and staff very kind and helpful. There aren't many choices of places to stay in the nearby area with other hotels principally part of large hotel chains. So, this hotel does offer something different but could be so much better with a bit of investment.

Superb Reception
A great welcome with our luggage carried from car to room. Then problems. Took some considerable time to work out how the light switches work: the writing is worn and difficult to read in the gloom. On ordering 'Lamb' from the menu I was surprised to receive only three slivers, each the precise dimensions of my little figure. I needed to pay a further £4 for some unremarkable boiled potatoes rather than go into town for more food. The ambience in the dining room left something to be desired, with the young head(?) waiter making his disdain for his staff all too obvious. The room was excellent and the bed very comfortable - a pity,then, that a delivery van arrived just below our window a little before 7.00 a.m. For our second and third evenings we ate in the Ozone restaurant, where the staff were much more positive and attentive, constantly on the move. Sadly for our final breakfast my cafetiere was served with the plunger already depressed. A second request produced an identical result, the helpful waiter not having a sufficiently adequate understanding of our language. The final blow came when, for the first ever time in my experience, supplies of marmalade had run out!

Spa paradise by the sea.
The hotel and grounds are beautiful and well cared for. We were greeted by staff who were extremely friendly and helpful and take pride in their hotel. This became evident that all the staff we met had the same attitude. There is even a "secret tunnel" to the spa which is a delight. We were delighted with the food and service and any breakfast combinations were not too much trouble to create. Overall this was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in.

Another perfect stay at Seaham Hall
As the last time we went we got upgraded to the lovely Executive Suite (21) we feared a "regular" Garden Suite wouldn't be as good but it was just as beautiful but in a different way. The lovely patio was a great place to have room service breakfast outside and to have a drink in our robes in early evening. Staff were, as always, great. Some of the other customers in the spa were a bit odd/gross (odd-one guy took a shower radio into the steam room, spoiling the atmosphere somewhat. Gross-eating an orange in the sauna and leaving the peel in there) but the hotel cannot really be blamed for their guests!

Very nice, clean and tidy with excellent service from the polite staff who couldn't do enough for us. Pricy but well worth it for a treat or special occasion. Spa is great and the treatments we received were very good.

Fabulous. Great service, exquisite rooms. World class SPA. Truly lovely design hotel. Staff is very helpful and warm. Bars and restaurants are highly styled contemporary. Gardens and outdoor spaces immaculate and furnished beautifully. this is a hidden gem of a property and a great value as well.

LOVELY SPA,although the standard has dropped since my last visit 10 yrs ago,dirty air vents,hairs and dirt in cup holders on gym equiptment not what I expected,the spa is much more tired ,needs tidying up,hotel ,lovely room,staff noisy...takes away from the serenity of the place,no ambience in hotel,seemed empty,ozone restaurant food good and staff good in there,poor hotel reception staff,not told how to use spa or that we had to fill in a form at spa,went wandering in to be shouted back by spa reception staff to fill out a form,staff robotic im afraid,...

Gorgeous hotel with fabulous spa!
Having eaten here a few years back, I was determined to return to stay! This is not a cheap place, and the pricing structure seems overly complicated, but the rooms are gorgeous and the spa facilities are excellent.

Didn't like the dress sense of the guests wearing dressing gowns/slippers at NIGHT time evening meal in the 2nd restaurant. Three quarters of the diners dressed like that put us off going back to dine there

Simply the best!
We regularly stay at Seaham Hall as it's the best hotel & spa in the region. The staff are always so attentive and happy to help. The food is always incredible and they never skimp on portion size either. The rooms are beautifully designed and so private. 5 Star

Amazing!
Amazing!!! The staff were fantastic and very helpful. The room was out of this world, the bathroom was fantastic and I loved the rain shower. No negatives to say about our stay,definitely worth a stay and we will be going back. Five star all round!

I have known of this hotel for some time,and was very pleased with room 5 Junior suite.We went to the Spa in the afternoon and it was lovely.The one thing I was looking forward to was the evening meal,very disappointed with the lack of choice and had to go a la carte, we both had fish which was ok but lacked the wow factor.We came down for breakfast and there again were very disappointed back bacon not good and very watery poached eggs,expect better standard,staff were very good but would think twice about returning which is a shame when we loved the hotel and spa.

Always a pleasure.
Came up for a relaxing night away, overall the hotel is excellent! The concierge Kevin is always helpful and charming as ever. Only minor negative point on a personal level is the selection of food available. We have stayed here once before and last time we chose to eat in the Ozone restaurant which I must say was awful. Byron was miles better however, the choice of food from the menu I felt was a tad over pretentious although very well executed.

Brilliant autumn break near Durham
We stayed one night recently having dropped an offspring off at Durham. As we came from a long way, we have stayed at other hotels in or near Durham before with very average service. Having driven past Seaham Hall we thought we would give it a splash. It certainly lived up to our expectation (and the price)! The staff were friendly and more than helpful. The hotel room was sumptuous and clean. The spa has hot tubs and Jacuzzi galore both indoor and outdoor. The food at the Byron Grill was very good - the most tender steak we have had for a long time. Although it was not cheap, for the same quality of food and services you would pay a lot more in London or in the Southeast. The overall impression is that the staff are there to please and we would definitely look forward to returning.
