Charme romantique
L emplacement est idéal, le charme est bien présent et la vue splendide. Il ne faut pas être trop regardant sur la propreté des chambres et sur le prix. L histoire de cet hôtel fait oublier le reste….

Super friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful historic hotel with open courtyard / standard room was pretty basic inside but comfortable. Perfect location in OSJ for walking to restaurants, attractions, etc. Wine and cheese every day at 5! Would definitely return.

Small issue at check-in but staff was able to fix quickly. Very convenient location and great onsite restaurants that can cater to any food preferences. Valet attendants were very helpful with directions, recommendations and hailing taxis for us. Room was charming and very nice. Bathroom could be bigger but that’s a personal preference and wasn’t a deal breaker. Beds were comfy and fans on the ceiling were quiet and great. Overall very happy and will stay there again.

Great property. Pool was too small and few shaded mats with one umbrella broken so hard to sit out on lounges without a sun shade. Towels for pool plentiful. Slow service for breakfast waiter never came over even after asking so we ate elsewhere. On the whole I would stay again as I loved cleanliness kind staff ambience and safety of hotel(you needed key to get to room floors on elevator). Also a nice vibe lots of weddings are held hear and next to lots of shops and restaurants. Nice touch that wine and chees complimentary daily.

We loved staying at this hotel, it’s a beauty old convent and is right in the heart of old San Juan. We paid an extra $75 a night to upgrade to a suite as the queen beds were v small. Definitely worth pre-booking dinner in San Juan as many restaurants were fully booked. The staff were very helpful and friendly and we would definitely return

Lovely setting. Modernized rooms with period common spaces. Nice sitting areas on 3rd floor and beautiful patio bar and restaurant. Excellent staff, though the dining room is slow on weekends.

We were happy with our stay at El Convento. Our room was clean, and the beds were very comfortable. There was a wedding, but we did not hear any noise at all. Location is perfect, central to Old San Juan. If you want to explore on foot, this is the place to stay. Our only issue was that we had to park about three blocks away, but it was definitely worth the trouble. Loved the wine/cheese reception. Great restaurants nearby

I loved the history connected with the building. Loved the look of the place ( although the rooms are more modern than pictured in the older pre hurricaine photos) - I loved how close it was to walk to all the major old san juan sites... I would have liked a microwave in room or at end of hall or coffee area; the bathroom could have been a bit larger ( shower was nice but very narrow!) and a continental bkfst would have been better than the wine and cheese evening thing for us, because we never got back in time to be there between 5 and 6; however bagels or pastries and tea and coffee in the morning would have been wonderful!!! We really did enjoy our stay at el convento and would come back if we can afford it again some day.For us it was a splurge for my 60th birthday trip . They gave us a bottle of wine in the room when we checked in ( but no bottle opener for the cork --- my husband whittled it out with his pen!!!) PS the pool was nice too although sometimes in the evening there were no towels. One night is was closed during rain. The property is beautiful and historic. Could see the bay from our room. I loved old San Juan.

This may be my favorite hotel I’ve stayed in. Absolutely beautiful, with modern bathrooms. Staff was all friendly and helpful. Daily HH with appetizers was a nice treat. The room was clean and comfortable with comfortable and quiet beds, mostly white bathroom which makes it feel even cleaner. Fresh flowers and soft bath mat were nice touches. Nice views. AC worked well. Cathedral is across street. Pool area was nice as well.We would definitely stay again.

Limited parking in Old San Juan with very narrow streets. Do not bring a car!! Only one small church parking lot for the entire area. Better to Uber. El Convento has a great location. Would stay again but forego the car rental.
