I have now stayed in a few IHG properties and unfortunately this is my least favorite. For one, it’s 2024, please get smart TVs and allow guests to stream. Check in was a good experience but the rooms are ok at best (a little beat up like wall scratches and such). There is no microwave anywhere in the hotel, not even the lobby and they have to bring you one if you need (huge inconvenience when I had an hour to check out and although I was told it would take 20 mins for the microwave to come to my room, it never came). The room with a balcony was convenient since the weather was nice.

I read the other reviews about the homelessness in the area and honestly thought they were from scared person that hasn't been in a big city as there is normally homeless around. Boy was I wrong. The streets all around are filled with large groups homeless people. We had to keep switching what side of the street we walked on to avoid having to walk through them. At one point while walking to the front door, a group of homeless people started throwing glass bottles in to the street. I won't be staying in the gas lamp district again as almost half of all stores are shuttered and streets lined with homeless. Safer to stay in other parts, such as Little Italy.

This is our second time staying here. The hotel staff is really wonderful and they bent over backwards to make sure all of our requests and even last minute changes were met. The beds are probably the most comfortable i have ever slept in. So many little touches like wine time and doggie treats too. The downtown area is struggling with the element, but we are seeing that all over sadly.

Good hotel, not sure it’s worth the price
Property condition wasn’t the greatest. Tv cable was broken, towel hangar in the bathroom was ripped off the wall. No replacement TP so I ran out. Staff was great though. One other issue to keep in mind (not the hotels fault) is the train crossing is right near the hotel and the horn sound is constant all day/ night.

The hotel is nice overall. The cleaning staff did a great job. The rooms are modern. The overall staff is very good. The location is good except there is a large homeless population. They did not bother us, but it is definitely there...right outside of the hotel. Your heart just goes out to them, but it is a little scary at night. This is not a hotel problem, but a problem of the world.

Hotel is in a fantastic location. Walking distance to restaurants, bars, Petco Park and more. The rooms are spacious and have a luxurious feel. Checkin was at 4 but our room wasn’t ready until 4:30. That was a bit of a bummer after a 7 hour drive but the staff was very apologetic. Love the wine social in the evenings. The only downfall is the cost of parking. We would definitely recommend staying here.

The hotel itself was very good. It’s relatively close to the convention center and the rooms were clean and well appointed. The reason for not giving it a five star review is purely related to the surrounding area. It is very dirty and there are a lot of homeless people in the area. Please note that I’m not complaining about the homeless for being homeless however, there were several that were obviously very mentally ill and aggressive. It felt very unsafe for my female colleagues to be walking home at night.

My stay was great. My family and myself was very pleased with hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice. I was pleased with everything. The only thing ibwish they would of had was a fridge and coffeemaker. Other then that I was good.

When I booked this room, I was sold by the pictures. The bed looked nice and comfy, the aesthetic was a total vibe, and a view with a balcony was what sold it. Upon arrival, we were disappointed that there was no balcony as depicted in the photos on the website. However, the wonderful staff, the view, bed, shower, and all the amenities that come with the stay made up for it. We look forward to staying here again for future San Diego stays.
