Traffic noise and noisy air conditioner

Publié le 27 avr. 2016
Les + : The open foyer
Les - : Customer service and the parking charge.
Situation : It was close to the center of the city. We enjoyed the planetarium, Trolley Square, and a couple of the nicer restaurants around the area.
Air conditioning was extremely noisy at night but it was probably that way to drown out all the traffic noise from the busy one way street below. Trying to get into the motel from the parking garage was kind of a joke. We accidentally discovered the entrance on the top level of the parking garage into the hotel. There were no directions in the garage and the check in people at the counter did not offer any instructions. Also had to pay extra to park in the garage, like there was any other choice but to park on the street. House keeping came a 0930 hours the next morning. We did not answer the door. We left the room for the day at 1010 hours. We came back late in the afternoon and discovered a note from housekeeping that stated, that they honored the "do not disturb" sign on the door. Neither my wife nor I put any sign on the door and the room had not been made up or the towels replaced and it was past the 1700 time to call the front desk to get the towels changed out. The biggest joke was the five dollar charge for a warm bottle of water. If you bought the bottled water in the vending machine it was a very small bottle like those given away free at events or home shows.

Nice hotel just few blocks from city center.

Plenty of room for the family of four. Very clean and comfortable. Queen beds would be better than full, and I would prefer firmer matrasses. Hotel restaurant Stephen's Bistro was very good for breakfast, very flexible options from menu selection to buffet for $15.95; we haven't tried it for dinner though.

Nice Hotel In Downtown Salt Lake

Publié le 21 févr. 2016
Les + : The looks and mood of the hotel are very business-classy while still being comfortable and inviting.
Les - : The doors on the suites are sooooo ugly!!!!!! Hilton should totally upgrade the doors and add a fan to the bathrooms.
Situation : Simply Sushi is less than five minutes away. The hotel is right in the center of downtown Salt Lake so it's close to most everything you'd want to do.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Doubletree in Downtown Salt Lake City for Valentine's weekend. We were able to check in late with no trouble on Saturday night and the hotel staff were pretty friendly and nice. We asked for our room not to be cleaned on Sunday but they still came and cleaned and made our bed, so that was sort of frustrating. I didn't mind too much, though; that was my only problem with the hotel.

No complaints whatsoever. Everything is to our liking again for the 3rd year. Friendly and helpful staff, amazing food and excellent room service. Stayed 10 nights in a suite and it was spacious and comfortable and quiet. Location is great.

I was physically threatened by the front desk rep

Hotel stay was fine, minus kids running around the hotel till 2AM one night. The issue came when I needed a late check out. I went to down to front desk the day before check out and asked for late check out, they offered me 3pm for $25. I accepted, the clerk said he would charge it to my room. The next day at 3pm we went to front desk to check out and pay with a different credit card, the clerk said check out was at noon, and told me I was lying, she was very condescending and rude and when I asked for the manager, she told me to go find him..Needless to say I was shocked and at this point getting mad. She continued escalating and then threatened to beat me up, hurt me and a few other things that came out of her mouth. Another clerk stepped in and told me I she refused to give me the bill/summary of my stay due to my behavior ..long story short I had to leave, without my bill. I happened to run into the manager as I was leaving, I told him what happened, he apologized, took my info and said he would get me the bill ASAP. Four hours later I still didn't have my bill/summary but my cc was charged,so I called Hilton HQ and filed a formal complaint. That complaint went to the GM of the hotel, and it has been 2 days and I still haven't heard anything. This is UNIMAGINABLE, APPAULING, and UNEXCEPTABLE. This isn't the Motel 6, although I guarantee their employees would not act like this! Be prepared to fight at this hotel if their staff is having a bad day.

Layover in SLC

Publié le 21 janv. 2016 sur Hotels
Great night of stay for unexpected layover. We chose the hotel for the free airport shuttle and for hot tub to relax, and while the jets for hot tub could have been stronger and water could have been hotter, we still had a relaxing time. Only downside could be the way all the rooms face the center of the building and all the noises from the main level area where people hang out can be heard at night. FYI, the city blocks in SLC are huge so even though places of interest are 4-5 blocks away from the hotel, that's like 1 mi or more.
