Small hotel convenient for St Peter's, the Vatican
Publié le 25 mai 2016
Relais dei Papi is tucked away down one of the roads near the Vatican. There is no great entrance foyer and the hotel is situated on the 3rd and 4th floors of what appears to be a former apartment building, and is reached via an antique but functional lift. Reasonably priced, although somewhat small, rooms and the hotel contains adequate facilities for it to be used as a base for seeing the sights. The Vatican Museums are a ten minute walk, as is the nearest Metro station (Lepanto) , but beware - make sure you recognise the route back when coming out of a different Metro entrance from that you went into, or face an exploration of several streets whilst trying to get back on track - all the streets seem to be the same!. The hotel staff are excellent, speaking good English and very helpful in pointing out routes to the various tourist attractions and advising on local eateries. The included breakfast is adequate, with a wide variety of breads, rolls, biscuits and pastries as well as the usual ham and cheese cold plates, although the actual earing part of the breakfast room is very small and can get crowded. Rooms contain all of the normal facilities, including TV and safe, but could be enhanced by provision of tea and coffee making facilities. Coffee etc is available (at a cost) from a vending machine, which also supplies snacks. All in all, I would recommend this to anybody wanting to visit Rome.
