Oreillers vieux et inconfortables, plateau coussin - sur le matelas mal ajusté bougeait beaucoup, tapis vieux et sale. Hôtel bien situé, petit déjeuner - non compris mais très bon et bon service.

Great place to stay with a nice location in the city to get to wherever we wanted to go. Staff was friendly and very helpful, room was beautiful and very clean.

The staff is great when you get then but front desk and room service rarely answer the phone. There’s bums sleeping all around the building at night and there’s a night club right outside the building across from the room we were in. Lots of unsavory late night business. The one valet guy wasn’t very polite, and it’s a tuff space to turn cars around. Witnesses very dicey. I did leave something in my room they got back to me very quickly and are shipping it to me which is great! I did pay for this but am happy to. So overall great staff but seemed hard to get on the line. The surrounding area not the best.

Two days before arriving at the hotel, we were notified that renovations would be taking place. No mention of any renovations was provided when the reservation was booked 4 weeks earlier. Upon arrival, there was a high level of noise from power saws and tools, so the you could not hear a word that the hotel employee behind the desk was saying. She was abrupt and surly and informed us that $200.00 would be kept in escrow for “extras”. I have never encountered that in any high end hotel before. It doesn’t seem necessary as they have your credit card information anyway. At breakfast, we ordered orange juice and water, which never arrived. When we asked if there was cream cheese for a bagel, the server informed us that they were out of cream cheese. The toaster was also out of order. After my wife had eaten the untoasted bagel, the staff brought out a supply of cream cheese. Amazing. At check out time, we texted the valet 20 min prior to preparing to leave, as instructed, to bring up the car. We got an automatic text reply stating “we have no valets at present, try again later.” After 30 min, the front desk attendant (same surly person as on arrival), said she would get the car. 30 then 60 minutes passed, and the same desk person stated that they have nothing to do with the valet, as it is a separate company. Finally, after 1 hour and 45 min., the car arrived. At the Sofitel, you will hear a lot of “bonjours”, to which I definitively and forever reply, “au revoir.”

I enjoyed the location of this hotel. The room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. We checked in at 10pm on 3/23/24 and the front desk woman had the personality of a disgruntled DMV worker, but all of the other staff we encountered were extremely friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed the food and wait staff in the cafe. I felt as if we found new friends. The food was so delicious we only ate one meal out. We WILL return to the restaurant the next time we are in Philly.

Our stay was great. The hotel is undergoing renos, but the room was priced according and we were given a high floor. All employees were so nice and professional. Our room was lovely, elegant and quiet. We received vouchers for free drinks and $20 worth of food (for any inconvenience) which was appreciated. The location is great. Right off Rittenhouse Square and perfect location for shopping with my teenager.

The food at the hotel was terrible. Patrick, the bartender was very attentive and truly care about the customers. Check in was ok. We were overcharged for services. I asked Mera to email us a receipt, I'm still waiting for it. She really does not care about following up on issues. The room was nice. We were able to walk everywhere.

Check in lady was not friendly or welcoming. Looks like the pictures on the website were old as the actual room was a little more worn. Dusty, odd smell. Valet turned up the heat and adjusted the seats and left it that way. Too much money for what you get. Will not return.

Who wants to stay at a hotel under construction? Not me. Lines to get on the elevator to the relocated “lobby”. Having to walk down stairs. Stuffy staff. I won’t be going back. If they had indicated they were unconstruction, I would not have stayed there.

Lobby was under construction which was not noted on the website but on an email I received the night before I was traveling there. I would have never spent that kind of money for two nights had I known this. Meeting friends and family and had to meet them in the rain outside because no where to go. Elevators were a nightmare. I'm upset I spent so much money for this hotel. Next time I will do research on my own and book on my own directly.

I stayed in one of the suites with a pull out sofa bed. They brought sheets and blankets to make up the bed. The blankets were soooo scratchy and old, just completely gross - I should've insisted on a comforter but it was late. I'm still dealing with a rash on my hands and arms that I picked up from the blankets three weeks later. Furious! AVOID THIS HOTEL! Also, its impossible to manage the temperature in the suites with the doors to the master closed so someone was always too hot or too cold. The valet was a disaster at night with the entire entry area full of parked cars so we had to go to a parking lot a few blocks away. Lastly, the hotel is under major renovation which was not advertised when I booked it so the make shift front desk is in a conference room.

Stay away while this property is under a “facelift.” It’s real construction where there hotel has NO LOBBY or reception. The “check in” is a conference room. They are still charging their 5 star rate and apologizing for the construction with a twenty dollar drink voucher. No hot water in my sink and never taken care of. I stayed there to have a “beautiful hotel” experience and was terribly disappointed.

We traveled in March while they're lobby was under construction, the original room we were assigned was on the 10th floor which we thought would be fine for construction noise since we were up so high, however, the first morning we were there the there was hammering and because we were right off the elevators we could hear all of it through the elevator shaft in our room. We brought this up to the front desk and they were amazing! They were very understanding and immediately worked with us to assign a new room. Mera and Ivan are AMAZING and very helpful! Ivan knows all about Philly and can tell you all the best places to go, his "cheat sheet" was the best! Alex in the restaurant was also helpful, very empathetic to our situation and even brought us free drinks. The new room was as far back in the corner as possible and was absolutely perfect! So quiet we couldn't hear a thing from anywhere. The beds are the best I've ever slept in at a hotel. The room was spacious and the bathroom well appointed. We had an amazing stay and look forward to coming back to see the new lobby all put back together!

Hotel is currently under construction with loud daytime noise and relocation of front desk, bar, and restaurant creating a bit of chaos. Rooms are dated with worn mattresses and linens. Hotel has seen better days and not representative of many Sofitels. "Urban Experience" fee will add $30/day to your bill with no significant value added.

The property is being renovated, so the hotel offered a free bar drink. More importantly, the room - which was the least expensive offered - was very large and comfortable. The neighborhood was lively, with many dining options, record shops, retail locations, and theaters nearby.
