The location and public spaces are great. Some of the front desk staff were lovely; unfortunately others were not. The room was not reliably serviced, despite reminding the front desk on a daily basis. Worst though was that we were not provided with the room we booked and prepaid for - a Superior room. Instead, upon checkin we were taken to a decrepit, one window room, with broken parquet flooring, no space, no shelves, no working air conditioning. When we asked about the air conditioning, we were told we had to give it 20 minutes before it would work. 90 minutes later, after challenging Brice, the checkin person, he took us to a second room located between the ground floor and the first, with again one window - this time located right over the designated smoking area outside the front door. The room still had no drawers or shelving - only a tiny hanging space - and the condition of the room was weak, with crude patches visible on walks and cabinetry. It was insulting that these rooms were offered to us with a straight face. Finally, two and a half hours after arriving from a long journey, we were offered a third room that was ok - but not great. There was mold in the shower and the hand-held shower connection was falling off the wall. We were on the first floor, overlooking the front doors, so got a fair amount of noise- and needed to keep drapes drawn at all times for any privacy. Lesson: Never prepay for hotel room.
