Super séjour
Hotel magnifique dans un village très mignon. La chambre est très confortable, bien que l’isolation phonique laisse à désirer. Les produits d’hygiène sentent très bon et sont de bonne qualité. Le petit-déjeuner est délicieux.

The room comfortable and clean. However TV was not programmed and therefore un useable. The hinges on bathroom door need attention. Anyone in tbe rooms arround would have been woken by the noise of the door being used! WD40! Half of the secondary double glazing missing so pointless and certainly of no use if one does mind the peeling of the Abbey bells. None a serious issue but disappointing as I managed this hotel for 5 years nearly 20 years ago. So fond memories of better days!

un hotel daté du 15me siecle pas loin d'Oxford
le directeur etait charmant et quand ona besoind de quelque chose 'cétait fait tout de suite. Nous etions dans une chambre avecun ' four bposter' lit et des anciens meubles. Mais il y avait tout dans la chambre et salle de bains. Le menu pour les repas etait bien aussi

Really easy to find and plenty of free parking. Walking up to the entrance was so beautiful with all the feature lighting and the church in the background. Staff so friendly and the room was just as it was shown in the pictures. Its so big and plenty of different areas to sit and have a drink and the decor was suitable to the history of the building. Food was lovely too. Stayed for one night but could of easily stayed longer.

We had a fabulous time everything was perfect. The staff were lovely. The rooms were fabulous. The hotel was revamped a year ago and it is amazing. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful and clean, the rooms being themed were abit of a surprise but that just added to the character. Breakfast was lovely and a good choice for all. Parking is handy, through quite a narrow entrance and is a bit ‘potholey’ but nothing you can’t navigate. Not many shops around the area but there is a coop food a few doors away and plenty in nearby Wallingford to keep you supplied. The only thing I will say is if you have the four poster bed and you’re remotely clumsy, watch your knees on the edge of the bed!

I'm becoming a regular at this hotel. I wish it was closer to the area where I work because I would stay here all the time. Brilliant food, staff, lovely themed rooms. Car parking, quiet, 15 minutes from Oxford and 40 minutes from Reading. Lovely village in the countryside.

A wonderful weekend break. Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The food was excellent - being both vegan and gluten free, we are tricky customers but the staff accommodated us brilliantly. The room was lovely and the parking safe and convenient. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. I would heartily recommend 'The George Hotel'.

Really helpful, professional and friendly staff. Great room well equipped and comfortable. I slept well. I had room with beamed ceilings which are notoriously difficult to keep clean and cobweb free, but the house keeping did a great job! Lots of parking with no issues. Great location for exploring south Oxfordshire' Will stay again! Thank you

The George Hotel is a lovely place to stay, it’s clean, has good parking facilities, tastefully decorates and the staff were friendly and helpful. would throughly recommend staying. The only thing I would suggest is if you have any food allergies or intolerance to let them know before you stay. I’m intolerant to wheat and although they had a couple of options that were GF they didn’t really seem to cater for GF, but feel this was probably my mistake for not making them aware beforehand.

Such beautiful and decor in the bar and restaurant and unique rooms. Dorchester abbey across the road too is worth a wander round.

Room 109 is compact but comfortable and functional. The staff were great. Breakfast was delicious. Situated in a quaint village with a nice walk to and along the Thames Path.

Absolutely fantastic rooms since the refurbishment. Staff are very friendly. I've been visiting for ten years due to work close by. Given the refurbishment, money spent the food does not do the place justice. Very standard menu with little or no extra specials.

Wonderful staff - shame about the fire alarm
Rooms are really beautiful and the staff extremely charming. The bed was really firm, which I like but the pillows probably the most uncomfortable I can recall. The restaurant was reasonable. What really ruined my stay was the fire alarm. Due to a fault it want off at 11.50pm, then at 4.45 am and twice at around 6.45 am. I stayed here on my way to a business meeting because I wanted to arrive rested and fresh so this was quite a disaster for me. The receptionist was apologetic on check-out but I do think they should have offered some form of compensation. I would like to come here again and surely they cannot have more problems with the alarm (but do I take my own pillow?)

Great place and lovely location.
What a stunning place to stay. The rooms are amazing. Clean, spacious and have everything you need. We arrived and were warmly welcomed by Gordon, the manager. He checked us in and gave us all the information we required for our stay. We then went into the bar area, where we had lunch and drinks. The food is of a good standard but is your typical pub type food menu. We had lunch then went to our room. As the pictures show, the rooms are spacious and very nicely decorated. They might not be to everyone's taste but the room was spotlessly clean. There are tea and coffee facilities, including coffee pod machine, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, fan, books, games. However, our only let down was a barman called Kai. At the bar waiting to be served, we got a flick of the head, as if to say "what can i get you" Not good Kai! and maybe try washing your hands when you cough and sneeze into them. He also managed to really mess up our drinks order at our evening meal. We would have spent the evening in the bar but didn't because of this. Such a shame after the exceptional service from Gordon, which continued at Breakfast. Breakfast-Amazing! What a selection. A continental buffet with juices, fresh fruits, croissants, cereals, yogurts. Then served from a great menu of hot breakfast dishes. We opted for Full English. Fantastic place Gordon. Maybe certain staff members could follow your example. Definitely on the return list.

We had great stay at The George Hotel! We went to the wrong location, first. So make sure you book and arrive at the right one:) The room was spacious, and lovely. The staff were friendly. The onsite restaurant was delicious. So very happy with our stay.

A warm welcome as soon as we walked through the door, bedroom was amazing, huge bed, wonderful decor, pure luxury. Everything we could possibly need was provided. Breakfast was very good, Eggs Royale was superb. thoroughly recommend the hotel.
