Rooms are very dated with no matching furniture, dirty/stained throw rug. Sink faucet only worked when it wanted to, sometimes you had hot water, sometimes you didn't. Good sized refrigerator.

I loved that the entrances for the rooms are all outside, the water pressure for the shower was phenomenal. The rooms are simple and cute and affordable!

The photos of the property are deceptive. This is a dinky motel with dirty beds and rooms that are far less nice than the photos imply. When I noticed this, I tried to get a refund but since I technically accepted the key for the room before seeing it, they refused to honor the refund. I had to go to a different hotel and ended up doubling my budget for my vacation but it was worth it to get away from this place. Avoid at all costs.

This is a wonderful place to stay for the price. It was clean, the desk person carried my bag up to my room and gave me two bottles of water. It is close to shopping, food and the highway. I would definitely stay here again.

Really great stay. The price was right, it was much quieter than expected. Very clean and spacious. Would definitely recommend and stay in again. The only thing was it smelled pretty heavily perfumed/the cleaning products used were very fragrant. Lovely stay regardless!

Pier Blue Inn is overall a very good motel with very friendly and helpful staff and a good location on on Route 1 on the outskirts of Old Saybrook, across the street from an excellent café called the Tea Kettle. The King Deluxe room was spacious and had a full-size refrigerator/freezer, a rare treat in motels. The room was not very quiet though. Sound carried a lot through the walls and ceiling, a problem in a first-floor corner room, and the king size bed had the noisiest springs I have ever slept on. With a better bed I would give the Pier Blue Inn five stars.

We stayed for a night while attending a wedding nearby. Would definitely recommend it. Clean, convenient and quiet (our room was on the back side). An excellent value.

Hotel was old and Dated but clean.. room had a overpowering smell not mildew but maybe some type of cleaner being used. Was not expensive but got what we paid for.

The place needs an upgrade. The locks on the door barely function. Nice and spacious but very old. Lovely staff.
