What a shame⊠this place may have had an amazing potential. Unfortunately my stay was incredibly disappointing.
The good sides :
- The bures are in good shape and the room is agreable close to the sea hearing the waves
- the food is ok and in big quantities
- The spot is beautiful and the snorkeling is nice
What made me shorten my stay from 5 nights to 2 :
- The lady in charge here was of no help whatsoever, unnice, asking for money ahead of any request
- I had rats or bats fighting in the ceiling of my bure making soooo much noise at night, didnt sleep much, but didnât get any assistance. I stayed my 2 nights with my family of ratsâŠ
- One member of the staff made inappropriate propositions to me on the very first evening. Offered to stay in my room and sleep with me. As a solo traveler this is never reassuring. I would advise solo women to avoid this place by any means. A few other women were here at the same time and felt inappropriate heavy unwelcome flirting.
- They put pictures of the pool on the booking websites but there is no pool. Everything is falling into ruins.
- They charge you for the small boat to pick you up from the ferry but donât tell you in advance. 30$ for less than 2 minutes of boat seams a bit of a stretch
- Electricity is on only 3 hours in the morning and 3 hours at diner. But in reality they donât respect the time and it is more like 1.5 hours.
- Finally, this is not the lodgeâs fault but the beach is incredibly shallow, you can walk for 15
Nice stay in Yasawa islands! If you are addicted to snorkelling and you want to relax giving up some unnecessary luxury comfort, this place is perfect for you!
Nice bungalows close to beautiful private beach,
few guests, perfect privacy!
Hand-made food is good and filtered water is available, no need of bottled water.
The beach is very nice and accessible also when tide is low thanks to a small concrete underwater bridge.
The individual bures are in decent shape and quite spacious. The staff are nice and do their best, given the circumstances. The food is good for the price. The pool, deck, outdoor bar and huge dining area look to have been abandoned years ago. The flies are thick, to the point of being a big frustration. The beach provides a nice long walk, or you can walk the trail to the homestay on the other side of the island. Emily has a bar with nice cold beer and the beach there has a breeze, so fewer flies.
Nice accommodation for budget travellers. The room was clean and spacious and the âresortâ is slowly being renovated.
You have got an incredibly large reef along the entire beach and can even visit some reef sharks. The hike to Honeymoon Beach takes less than ten minutes.
Staff was friendly and helpful but not as warm-hearted as at other accommodations.
Food was okay as they tried to cook international meals which were not always tasty and portion sizes varied as well. I would have preferred regional cuisine instead of bad pasta âbologneseâ for example. The meal plan is 70 FJD per day.
