Belle région bel hôtel mais chambre décevante
Offre gastronomique un peu limitée à Basingstoke (y compris à l'hôtel)comme l'offre touristique mais la région du Hampshire est très belle. Hôtel bien situé. Avons pu rejoindre rapidement et visiter Portsmouth au Sud comme Oxford au Nord. Plutôt déçus par la chambre, sans vue particulière alors que de nombreuses chambres offrent une vue superbe sur les jardins ; pourtant à l'évidence l'hôtel n'était pas plein. Le chauffage ne fonctionnait pas dans la salle de bains, portes grinçantes, rien à grignoter avec les apéritifs chichement servis, etc. Pourrait tellement mieux faire.

Classic English country hotel
Classic country hotel, but only 5 minutes from Basingstoke. A big extra is that there is a complementary shuttle bus to take you to your office, to the station or wherever (runs morning and evening). Good service, fairly good food (at expected prices - not cheap, but not sky-high either). Comfortable, large rooms (but old windows are a bit draughtly when the wind blows. Recommended.

Formidable week-end en amoureux !
Nous avions réservé une chambre dans cet hôtel pour fêter les 5 ans de notre rencontre et passer ainsi un week end romantique. Nous avons été charmés par l'établissement typiquement anglais et sa situation à la campagne en bordure de la ville de Basingstoke. La situation de l'hôtel est assez central entre Londres, Oxford et la très jolie région de Hampshire où de nombreuses activités sont proposées. La chambre était très propre et le rapport qualité/prix est au rendez-vous. De nombreux petits services sont offerts et appréciables (prêt de DVD, service de blanchisserie, conseils touristiques, ...). Nous garderons notamment un fabuleux souvenir du petit déjeuner, varié (anglais ou continental) et servi dans une magnifique verrière donnant sur le parc. Le personnel est au petits soins, tout est fait pour que vous passiez un agréable séjour. La qualité de la literie pourrait être améliorée pour un hôtel 4 étoiles.

Séjour confortable
Bien que le site internet soit clair, nous ne nous attendions pas à loger dans une chambre moderne. Cependant nous avons été très bien logé, et la chambre est entièrement équipé. les toilettes sont vastes et modernes. Les salles de réception et l'accueil ont conservé le charme de la demeure ancienne. Les déjeuner sont variés et le buffet appétissant. Le service est courtois et attentionné. Je craignait la proximité de l'autoroute, mais de notre chambre jamais n'avons-nous entendu la circulation.

First class stay
What an absolutely lovely hotel. Set in beautiful grounds the room was spacious, well furnished and very comfortable. The facilities in the bathroom were top notch for my disabled wife. Breakfast was a buffet style and excellent quality.

Fabulous
This is a beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds. The furnishings and decoration of the lounge, bar and restaurant are really nice. The rooms are large and comfortable and very well designed.

Comfortable classic country hotel. The suites are much nicer than the standard rooms. Our room needed maintenance as the ancient windows had issues and were not fully closed. Otherwise, the room was in excellent shape. The bar and restaurant are fun and comfortable. The staff is very pleasant and helpful.

This is a secluded place outside Basinkstoke as part of the "Hand Picked" hotel network. During the Christmas time they welcome guests by offering little perks which shows a high level of care for the guests. The breakfast is solid and done fresh. I imagine that during non pandemic times this hotel is busy and the atmosphere is different. Nevertheless we spent there 5 nights and found them as the most decent option in the area. Other highlights: good beds, superior linen and towels.

A dreadful experience
My family and I had a very disappointing stay at Audleys Wood Hotel in Basingstoke. I had booked three executive rooms and paid for them upfront through Hotels.con. On arrival, the (patronising and rude) receptionist was clearly confused about our booking and insisted that she charge my credit card again for the rooms before she would provide us with room keys. This, she explained, was the only way the hotel could recover monies from Expedia! I explained that I had already paid through Hotels.com but to no avail. My card was charged with three different amounts totalling in excess of £500. Once we arrived in the rooms, they were very dusty and my daughter’s room did not have the cot previously requested. On requesting this from reception we were informed that the janitors had now left for the day. It eventually turned up and was left unmade up in the corridor. On departure, I was assured that the payments made the previous night would not be charged but were simply holding charges. Plus I was to be refunded part of the cost of the rooms as “Hotels.com had overcharged me” (this was not true) and my dinner bill. This turned out to false as the charges were realised on my credit card and despite the refunds, it meant that I had paid an additional £137. This was refunded after three tense phone calls. To add further insult, we had a beetle scurry across the floor of our room during the stay. Also worth noting - the restaurant staff were great. But overall, a dreadful experience.
