Check-in was extremely slow. They charge an additional $12 fee for parking even though they don’t take any of your car information, give you a tag or display showing that you paid because you could be towed if you didn’t pay for parking. I chose not to pay and nothing happened. I feel it’s just another fee to tac on for the heck of it & most people pay it. You’re informed that you can come get a sack breakfast upon checkout if you’re interested and you check out before 10 AM. Which upon checkout, we asked if there was breakfast, & the clerk at the counter was extremely irritated that she had to put together a literal brown bag breakfast. No security in the hotel even on the door entering into the building our room was located. The doors were broken & look like they’ve been broken for a long time. The hallway to all the rooms looks like something out of a horror flick. The room was stale smell of cigarettes in a non smoking room. A lot of stains from god knows what on the carpet. Carpet was also thick and felt sticky. I did not walk barefoot for sure and my socks were black from the little time I did walk around. I chose this hotel because of its location and their rating which was not so bad paired with their so so pricing however that was a mistake. I would rather paid 30 more dollars and stayed at the Marriott next-door or even the Hilton next-door have stayed at this shady house in a good neighborhood. Sad to say but we will NEVER stay here again.

Although, I am confused on your remark about parking as our records indicate, we did not charge you for parking. Which I am assuming is because you told staff at the front desk that you did not have a vehicle to park.

The attitude of front desk staff was not very friendly. She walked out to the front desk lazily from playing on her phone in the back and didn't have any smile on her face. Also found that the hotel has increased their parking fee to $12 per night instead of $10 as listed on Expedia. Room is old but overall reasonably clean. The most unacceptable thing is they didn't remove the leftover food from previous guests from the fridge. We were left without a fridge to use as we didn't want to touch the food left behind by other people.

The property is very outdated and the parking situation is pretty terrible. The parking spots are very narrow, when someone pulls in next to you in a big truck, you’re not able to get into your car. But, what’s worse is the building that we were in did not have hot water. We got no warning that the Mount Baker building was having hot water issues. The gentleman in the room next to us told us that the front desk informed him that they were having intermittent hot water issues. We were never told that, and had I known that I would’ve requested to be in another building, nobody wants to take a cold shower. I would not recommend this red lion location to my worst enemy. The African-American woman at the front counter was very unfriendly, and it was clear that she did not want to be at work that day.

When checking out. A couple had their 2 dogs with them. The woman was at the counter while the man had their 2 small dogs on a leash. He let one of them poop in the lobby on the carpet. He did pick it up. The desk lady didnt see any of it but I did mention to her when it was my time to check out. I will not be staying at the place again and will not recommend.

toilet almost overflowed room smelt like stale cigarettes and door wouldn’t shut properly without being forced into place upon arriving another guest was walking their dog stopped by our room and yelled back to whoever was at their room that “they’re staying in this room” freaked me out because i was traveling by myself with my two daughters did not sleep well because of this and felt unsafe

Was very dated. No hot water in morning, fridge froze everything, dresser back coming off with exposed nails, no elevator, parking spaces all taken by construction crew. Outside door often unsecured. Only stayed one of two nights booked.

The price was affordable and the location is very close to downtown Bellevue. However, the noises of outdated air-conditioner under the window became an issue for those who had problems in falling in sleep.

Because I forgot to book my hotel until the day of my trip I booked this hotel hastily and had instant regrets! The front desk staff was rude and didn’t tell us we had to request room cleaning or attendance! This left us going down to the concierge to get towels ourselves! She stuck us all the way in the back of the hotel when clearly there were rooms in the front as no one was in that hotel at all! The hotel was dated, dirty, poor lighting, poor customer service, no dining, no class, every piece of furniture in that place was made for little people. They should call it red lion motel since it has cheap motel quality!!!! Needless to say will never stay here again or recommend it to anyone!!! It is suitable as a homeless shelter and that’s it! In fact they should service the community and run it as one to help the overwhelming amount of homelessness in the area!!!!

We woke up at 5am with no power. Had to have my daughter at a cheer competition at 6:45am. Called the front desk. Said there was no maintenance. Had to get my daughter dressed in the dark, do her makeup in the hall, and we’re finally able to get a new room so we could have electricity to plug in the curling iron. Appreciate getting a new room, but no offer to comp us a night or anything.

There are several buildings to this hotel, we stayed at one in the back, not sufficient lighting so we were basically parking our car in the dark. The hallway and entry door into the building was in much need of upgrades - paint, door replaced, it just looked run down. The door that requires a key into the building doesn't shut fully and lock unless you pull it closed. When I tried to open it with my key card upon arrival, it was not locked. The rooms were "okay", the bed sheets and towells were clean, that is the most important thing for me, the bathroom clean enough. The bathroom door in need of cleaning or a fresh coat of paint. There was a pretty significant hole in the wall. The hotel rooms need attention and to be rennovated. If this is your price range, it's okay, and not the worst place I have stayed in. It felt like it was clean enough although we weren't sure if surfaces had been cleaned because of the condition of the building overall... I didn't feel like I needed to ask for a refund that night and go somewhere else, which I have done before with other places. We did, however, decide to not stay a 2nd night, and I was glad I only booked one night even though we were staying 2 days in Bellevue. We went to a diff hotel our 2nd night, one I had stayed at a couple times before while in town, and I regretted not booking this other one from the start.

Great people who work there. Nice Grab and Go Breakfast. Just say it clearly in the description so no one expects anything hot except coffee. I will definitely be staying there again because it's clean, simple and affordable.

It was frustrating to get to the hotel and learn about the $50 non refundable pet fee that was not made clear on the hotels.com site. I understand there can be pet fees but I would’ve preferred to know what they were ahead of time so I could budget.

Would avoid this place. The doors to one of the buildings are NOT locked, they have keycard holes beside them but they are not functioning. It felt unsafe knowing anyone could enter the building at anytime, with just your room’s door being the only form of security. Exterior looked old and rundown, the interior smelled old and smoky. The room had a smell which cleared by turning on the A/C, but the A/C unit was extremely noisy. You can hear the freeway outside, but that’s expected as the property is directly beside it. Bed and bath was average, however our second night in the hot water stopped working. We were moved to another room, the front desk apologized but only offered compensation for parking (which we did not have), and did not offer any other type of compensation. “Breakfast” is a bag of grab and go foods, convenient but unfortunately cold and unfilling. Transit is a short walk away, the location is probably the best feature of Red Lion Bellevue. We stayed here pre-pandemic and it was a much better experience, this visit was disappointing and we will not be returning to this location.
