Agréable
Séjour agréable. Seul bémol les travaux en bas de l’hôtel (mais l’hôtel n’y est pour rien!). Nous avons testé le restaurant, il n’est absolument pas à la hauteur de la qualité de l’hôtel…à éviter!

Attention, attention...
Attention arnaque !!! Ne réservez jamais le petit-déjeuner avant d'être sur place. Si votre avion part tôt le matin, vous n'aurez pas de petit-déjeuner, mais surtout même pas un petit sac avec au moins une pomme a l'intérieur. Mais vous aurez payé le petit déjeuner !!!! Et malgré des échanges de mails, on vous répondra qu'un remboursement est absolument impossible... Mauvaise volonté tout simplement. Absolument pas digne d'un hotel qui se veut haut de gamme.

Quand vous rentrez déjà ça sent très bons et ça c’est important Le personnel est vraiment agréable nous avons eu à l’accueil Maria et Damien qui ont été vraiment charmant ainsi que les autres mais eux ils parler français Surtout quand vous ne parlez que très peu anglaisLa propreté de l’hôtel moi j’ai rien trouvé à dire ni mon amie qui était avec moi tous les matins il faisait notre chambre et je peux vous dire que c’est quand même agréable de rentrer le soir et de voir que votre chambre est très propre.Nous nous étions dans la chambre 608 au 6 étage Une vue incroyable sur les toits comme si que vous étiez sur Paris et au fond le dôme vraiment très Agréable

Om personalen varit vänligare och mer hjälpsam skulle jag ge toppbetyg, men det allmänna bemötandet drar ner betyget avsevärt. Oredan vid frukosten (kaffemaskiner som behövde rengöras vilket personalen ignorerade) samt avsaknaden av något så elementärt som ost bör också nämnas. Att sedan bli inträngd i ett hörn i hissen när personal pressade sig på med en brickvagn, och ytterligare en anställd klämde sig in på nästa våning är inte gott bemötande av hotellgäster.

Excellent. Beautiful hotel and spacious room. Location is perfect for walking around town. Please be aware that parking is off site and about a 10 minute walk from the property. It was a little challenging for us to find the parking.

This was a great hotel. Centrally located. Across the street from Waverly Station and you can walk to most anything in the city. Staff was very nice and the rooms and common areas were kept clean. The restaurant had a good selection of classic Scottish fare and reasonably priced.

I came to Scotland to celebrate my 50th birthday and when the front desk found out they sent chocolates to our room and a bottle of champagne! They made my week and my birthday so very special and we will for sure stay here again!

Excellent accommodations. The staff was friendly, prompt and very helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and there were other options within walking distance. The property is in old town where history took place. The train station is just across the street and that was very convenient for those travelers coming by train. The only item to note is that the nearby bridge is being reconstructed so there is some congestion from the construction site; however, we did not hear it from our room

Room was fabulous , Views of the castle and princess street. Ordered room service , meals were excellent . Only problem was finding access to the Market Street entrance , due to work on the north bridge street. Suggestion would be to advise the postal code of that enterance,or a nearby business on market street . Great stay , have stayed our last four trips to Edinburgh.

Work underway at front of property which was heard in room until early in morning. Air conditioning not working and we were given a Dyson fan to heat room which had to be switched off at night so noise from it did not keep us awake. Told engineers would fix air con fault but after 2 days we left with Dyson still in place. Wind got up on second night and caused horrendous banging which appeared to come from window frame on room next door. Has to sleep with ear plugs which forrtunately i carry. Scotsman to date have failed to reply to my email regarding our stay. Overall, disappointing.

The heater was not working in the first day, under -2 temperature in the winter. The staff should test the facilities in advance, considering such a classic, high-end, quality hotel.

Excellent property. Room and room views were perfect. The renovation is lovely and the staff couldn't be nicer. Location is great too with great access to the Royal Mile from floor 4 or to train station and beyond to the north from the level 0 entrance. All around a very nice experience, would highly recommend this hotel. We will be back.

Fantastic way to celebrate occasions
Spent a night here as part of a long trip for our honeymoon/birthday and they gave us such a fantastic room (903) massive space with a little viewing gallery of the balmoral hotel. Was greeted with birthday chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco and Stephen (I hope that was his name) explained how to use everything in the room and where to find things. Queenie at reception was really friendly and nice and helped to explain how the heating worked (not used to it and she kindly explained that it will blow cool air out once in a while but it does indeed work). Was a bit tricky to find initially from Waverley station because the door to the hotel was quite small and there were no proper signage outside saying where the entrance with the lift lobby was so it looked like you had to walk up the massive flight of stairs to get to the hotel lobby.

From the moment we walked into the hotel everything was perfect, staff were incredibly helpful. We also booked the date night package in the picture house which I’d definitely recommend. The room was big, clean and modern. Couldn’t fault a thing. It was one of the more expensive options in the city but definitely worth the money and then some!

What an amazing hotel. Just lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. I asked for a bath.

Disappointed
We got back to our room and after an hour of waiting for the room to warm up I contacted reception and complained. They came to the room and played around with the thermostat and said to give it another hour to see if it heats up. This did not work and we had to get changed in a cold room ( which makes it worse because my wife is suffering with cancer). We told reception on the way out and they put a Dyson heater in the room which worked. On check out we were asked about our stay and we said about the room temperature only to be told it’s an old hotel. We do not expect to pay £365 for a room to have to have portable fans to heat up a room (after a couple of hours. We were also not happy with the view from the room. We paid extra for a city view and the windows were absolutely filthy, to the point where you could hardly see out of the window
