It has an old feeling about it. Like it was grand once upon a time and is fading. A little if the facility wasn’t open. Bar, grounds a locked up. Parking in run down gravel lot behind building. You enter it through a blind gate. Very difficult to pull out of safely.

Lovely hotel a bit dated but we didn’t mind no lift but in fairness I think there is only one floor very clean but some of the furnishings didn’t match 2 different bedside lamps need to up the anti for bar food but the breakfast was lovely and fab staff too

I stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed the hotel. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. The hotel was very compliant with HSE guidelines and put my mind at ease. What I liked most was the fact it was very central to visiting the Burren and the surrounding areas. I would have no problem staying at this hotel again.

Very pleasant stay
Stayed here during COVID times, overall the situation was well managed by the hotel. Check-in was efficient, the lady on reception was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel is showing its age, but it does not have that musty feeling that some older hotels have, the Royal Spa was very clean. I would readily stay here again.

Good location and comfortable
We stayed here for one night passing through. Good location, in centre of town. Very comfortable bed, quiet at night and lovely breakfast in morning. Nothing luxurious but for basic accommodation it was perfect.

One night stay
Stayed one night. Didn’t see much of the town as we were just passing thru to Cliffs. Staff was helpful and friendly. Yummy breakfast , clean shower and room. Bed was a bit hard but no bed is as good as your own. All in all it was perfect.

A very comfortable stay. The breakfast was excellent both mornings. We went to the Roadside Tavern both evenings for the locally brewed beer.

Hotel was in a great location and near to some good restaurants. The room was large with a king sized bed. It could do with some renovation. Breakfast was freshly cooked and very good. Good location for the Cliffs of Moher and other sites.

It is an older hotel but it has a quaint and friendly atmosphere that is priceless. We had dinner at there restaurant and enjoyed an excellent meal. The free breakfast the next morning was exceptional as well. I would say there again without hesitation.

the hotel was very quaint and old , 1850 ish quiet location Lisdonvarna is only open one weekend in the year but there is only one decent pub in town the ensuite was dated , bedroom ok but the bed was very creaky and never slept all night .

Bellissima esperienza
Abbiamo soggiornato una notte di ritorno dalle Cliffs of moher. L hotel si trova sulla strada principale di Lisdoonvarna a pochi passi da pub e ristoranti. La località è molto animata con varie proposte di musica tradizionale dal vivo. La struttura è dotata di un parcheggio riservato. Alla reception e nella sala per la colazione abbiamo trovato personale preparato e disponibile anche a una simpatica chiacchierata in puro stile irlandese. L' arredamento e l' impostazione sono di tipo britannico, con moquette, camini e vari suppellettili sparsi. La pulizia e i servizi della nostra camera familiare erano impeccabili, come abbondante e varia la proposta per la colazione. Purtroppo non siamo riusciti a testare il ristorante, era già chiuso al momento del nostro arrivo (circa le 19.30), probabilmente perché in quella sera era previsto un evento musicale. Abbiamo comunque facilmente ovviato con le molteplici proposte dei locali del villaggio. Nel complesso, consigliamo sicuramente l'hotel.

Two happy guests in the Royal Hotel Spa.
Our stay was very enjoyable. We were greeted by the owner and welcomed. The room was good and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was really good with home baked breads and cakes. The waitress was exceptionally helpful.
