It's important to note that we do not directly 'charge' the CC surcharge; rather, we pass on the transaction fee imposed by the banks. Without passing on this cost, we would essentially bear an annual overhead of approx. 50,000. This is a burden that, in fairness, should be attributed to the customer using their credit card, rather than being absorbed by us. To offer alternatives, we provide options for cash and EFTPOS payments, both of which do not incur any surcharge.It's also worth mentioning that many small businesses in NZ have adopted a similar approach due to the financial constraints they face.
