I had to wait almost one hour for the crib I requested in my room. Had to call like 10 times. Also i was charged tax on my breakfast twice, when i told them the person said I dont know why system did that but cant do anything to help. Staff needs to be more helpful and not rude to their customers.

Not quite what it once was
It’s been more than a decade since we’ve stayed at the Renaissance in downtown Chicago. I guess I remember it being more on the elegant side. That being said, the service in every respect from the registration desk to the valet, was excellent. Friendly and helpful. Our room on the 9th floor was nice, nothing too fancy. And though we could hear the train, it was very faint and sounded like a heater going on and off. We did find the bed very comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep after a long day.

Check your bill!
The hotel was fine--a bit overpriced for the experience. Irritating to be charged a destination fee, but even more irritating to be told to charge bar/room service towards that daily fee for credit and not receive it. I had to call Renaissance and speak to two people in order to receive the $25 credit towards our room service/bar bill. Check your bill!!

Fantastic staff,great resturants close by.also the theaters,navy pier.great experience. I will definitely stay here again.maya my housekeeper keep the room immaculate. The bartenders a staytion make incredible cocktails,front desk and bell stall are awesome .great job renassance
