Bel hôtel typique anglais.
Etablissement de qualité. Néanmoins, le service de table/bar n'est pas toujours à la hauteur. En effet, après la prise de la commande, on m'a fait attendre plus de 30 minutes avant de me faire servir mon lunch qui n'est jamais arrivé. J'ai dû quitter l'établissement sans prendre mon lunch. Pourtant la salle du déjeuner était vide! Enfin, sachez qu'on vous comptera 10 GBP de supplément pour un late check out de 2 heures à savoir jusqu'à 13h00 au lieu de 11h00.

mon opinion
J'avais choisi cet hôtel pour sa situation géographique: le plus près de la maison de ma famille, le but de mon voyage. Tout le personnel de cet hôtel est génial: gentil, serviable, poli. La chambre: rien à dire. 10 sur 10. Un petit bémol: le bain se remplit vite, la douche n'a pas assez de pression. Quand on doit partir avant l'heure du petit- déjeuner, vous n'en aurez pas. Heureusement il y a un plateau bouilloire électrique dans la chambre!

Avoid! This is not in anyway worth the money they charge. Reception area was nice but room corridors make it feel like a nursing home not a hotel. Room tiny, mould in bathroom, thread born bed runner, wonky radiator which didn't work. Rooms really noisy. Deafening noise when other guests run their taps/flush their toilet. Food, edible but pretty poor, you'd be better going to a local take away. The reception experience I had at check in was mind boggling and when I checked out I wasn't asked how my stay was so didn't get to communicate any of this to the hotel. You'd be better in a Travel Lodge!

The room was clean, staff were courteous. The Hotel was conveniently situated for my stay. I didn't like the email I received on the morning of my trip advising that I couldn,t check in before 4.30pm or that I wouldn't be allowed to use any hotel facilities before 4.30pm. I arrived at 2.30pm intending to park my car at the hotel and check in later but the car park was roped off. My room (89) was cold.

Nice, Clean and good staff but expensive.
Not worth the money. We were put in the 70s annex. Would of preferred the old original building. And we did not get our VIP discount for the drinks purchased at the bar.

Wow! Best staff in the country
I have to say that I wasn’t sure what to expect but I think my daughter and I actually found the most helpful, polite and attentive staff in any hotel we have stayed in. Such a wonderful team. A big thank you to Neil and the team in reception and Damian and the bar team for keeping us entertaining late in the evening. The rooms was also amazing. Gutted we only had one night. This time……

Over-priced - did not live up to expectation
Overpriced accommodation - think you’re going to be in the main house and then get stuck in a 70s extension at the back. Rooms are dated and menu is limited. Waiter, Jennife was excellent and very attentive but the food seemed to take a while to arrive. No air con in main dining area on a very hot day. Beautiful gardens and decent parking but experience certainly did not live up to the cost.

Unfortunately, we do only have a number of rooms within the Grade 2 listed property & had we know that this is where you had wished to stay, we could of certainly look at allocating one of them for you. With regards to the food, then again i can only apologies if you felt it was limited. Did not like the fact we had to leave a £50 deposit when checking in, was led to believe this was to held against any room charges but when checking out was told the amount would not be offset and would be refunded within 30 days by the bank. We had room 37, the lower sash window glass had been obscured so to see out at ground level you had to open the window. However, when the window was open you had the noise of what I believe was an air conditioning fan cycling on and off.

HI JeffreyThank you for your review. I am sorry you felt "misinformed" however this wasnt the case. Upon arrival we take a "pre-auth" of 50 which opens up the credit facilities for you. Sadly due to theft & for security of our customers this is something we had to introduce some years ago & something that many larger corporate hotels operate. As this isn't a charge the funds remain in your account until a "completion" or "cancelation" takes place upon check out. These funds are then used against any charges you may have. With regards to noise, then i will certainly look into this. Given the location of your room, this would mean the noise came from our conference suite, however this wasnt in operation during your stay & operates n a time clock when in operation. Very clean, lovely setting. Breakfast let it down
Very clean hotel, lovely setting, extremely helpful and polite staff. The only thing that let is down was the vegan breakfast offering, which was huge disappointment, particularly for the price. Which is a shame as the other breakfasts looked delicious.

Absolutely lovely building. Really interesting architecture and located in a pretty area. Overall a positive experience and highly recommended. The one note I would make is that the bedroom doors could do with slow, closing brackets to stop the heavy doors slamming. The thuds late at night and early in the morning make quite a bang! Otherwise, a really quiet and peaceful hotel.

I didn’t enjoy our stay this property. I paid £195 for a family room in the annex which was dated and small (with a very small bathroom) for three people. It was certainly not worth this. I asked at reception and was shown another family room as an option exactly the same as the one we were in. My Expedia booking included a free breakfast but this wasn’t on the booking. The receptionist said she would speak to the duty manager about this but when I asked later on she said she hadn’t been able to get hold of them. I asked about this again upon check out but there was no record of me having asked, I chose not to pay extra for it. Whilst central parts of the hotel are nice the annex is not of a 4 star standard and not worth the amount guests are paying to stay there . Disappointing as this was meant to be a treat for myself and children whilst attending a friend’s birthday.
