Great apartment and location in Avignon
Their regular check in person was not available so perhaps we did not get the true experience. We could only communicate through an app on her cell phone as she spoke minimal English. Over the phone there was no possibility of communication. She was extremely pleasant and tried very hard to help us. I would suggest that the owner/property manager prepare a binder in multiple languages with instructions/helpful hints about the use of the appliances and local services. We were not able to turn on the oven or stove top ventilation hood. There were manuals but they were all in French and appeared to be installation manuals. This limited our cooking of the great meats, etc available at the large indoor market which was a great disappoint to my wife who was really looking forward to cooking with the local ingredients. We were traveling in France for 9 weeks and were looking forward to eating in during our stay in Avignon. There was no lighter so the greeter could only try to show the gas top range operation but did direct us to a close market to purchase one. I definitely think this should have been provided. The owner/property manager employed a third party to manage the 500 euro damage deposit. They wanted us to take photos of all the rooms(suggested 4 photos) per room to be uploaded to a link on an email they sent after requesting a credit card for the damage deposit. This was a time consuming process for us non computer savvy folks so we only sent the minimal issues that we saw. Another email arrived from them the night before check out wanting the same set of photos. We were on vacation and this was very annoying! No personal touch and no one came to check us out. Even the greeter minutes after she left meeting us at the apartment texted with the check out time and basically indicated in the translated message that she would not be there at the 10 AM checkout time and where to leave the keys. We did take before and after pictures for our own protection and informed the service that we had them. We have rented multiple apartments/houses in various countries and throughout the US. We own 2 timeshares that we trade frequently to other destinations and although this apartment is spacious, beautiful and well located in Avignon we were extremely disappointed in the service provided by the owner/property manager. The garage is designed for a smaller car and we suggested that they should offer some rental model types that will fit and not surprised.
