Zilker Park, Barton Springs Charming Home with King Suite

Summary:
Welcome to the Barton Springs Bungalow (BSB). We’re located near Central and South Austin’s entertainment hot spots. Five person hot tub. Walking distance to the legendary Broken Spoke, Matt’s El Rancho, Amy’s Ice Cream, Kerbey Lane Cafe and new entertainment venue 04 Center. Short hop to downtown and Zilker Park for ACL. Fast fiber internet, smart TV with access to all of your subscription services.

We’ve a large screened-in porch with fireplace and outside dining table for eight people.

The Space:
We have 2 Gig wifi (fastest fiber internet connection available in Austin). Smart TV with subscriptions to YouTube Tv, Disney +, Netflix and Hulu. The master has a king size Thuma bed and en-suite bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has a queen Thuma bed and closet. The third bedroom is small with two single bunk beds and no window and no closet. The second and third bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower and tub and two vanity sinks.

Guest Access:
The front door has a cypher lock. We will issue a specific code for your stay one day before your arrival. Check in time is 4 PM and checkout time is 11 AM.

The Neighborhood:
Barton Hills neighborhood is located south of Downtown Austin approximately one mile. Barton Springs and ACL are both one mile away as well.

Getting Around:
Covered parking for two vehicles. A third vehicle can park on the black gravel next to the driveway. You can also park on the street in front of the house.

Other Things to Note:
You have access to one tandem (two person) kayak. Use at your own risk and know that you are responsible for their safe return. You agree to repay us for any loss. We have tie down ratchet straps for your vehicle and life vests available for use. They are located in the box next to the hot tub along with the paddles. Please return everything where you found them. Please watch a YouTube video for instructions on how to properly use a ratchet strap to secure the boards on top of your vehicle.

Interaction with Guests:
We live in Dripping Springs (25 minutes away). We’re available to help with any issues that arise via text messaging. Your comfort, security and privacy are important to us and will be respected at all ties.

The place was great, and the hosts were even better. I had family in from out of town. So booked this place to have a spot to celebrate Father’s Day. And it was perfect. Living room and kitchen flow into the patio. Plenty of seating for everyone. Kitchen and appliances were all very nice.

UT Visit

This house was absolutely perfect for our trip to visit UT. It was convenient to so many things we love to do in Austin, and the home had awesome amenities, including skylights, a cool master shower, comfy beds and furniture, and a hot tub. We absolutely loved our time there!

Amazing Comfortable House Close to the Best of Austin

From the time of booking through the stay, the host, John, was amazingly available even when he was halfway around the world in Asia. If I sent a message, he replied back quickly regardless of what his time was or mine. The house is located in an amazing up and coming part of Austin and strategically close to downtown Austin as well as the local rivers and lakes and restaurants and bars and FOOD (Brisket) that Austin is famous for. The space is comfortable with a cool enclosed patio and fire place. The bed was comfortable as was the living room. While I didn't cook here the kitchen is stocked and ready for anyone to use and is a cool galley style layout that fits the style and size of the house perfectly. Everything is efficiently labeled and the hot tub was great to use every evening and I even made a fire one night as the owner had his wife drop off some wood after I had reached out to inquire about the availability of any and "magically" it showed up. Very accommodating hosts combined with a comfortable beautifully decorated space located convenient to all things great about the Austin / San Antonio area, makes this a gem for anyone to stay in.

Relaxing oasis just near city center

We had a wonderful stay at this home. It was very luxurious and clean with excellent amenities. getting to all of the sites was just a quick car right away and we are even able to walk to some dinner places. highly recommend and hope to be back myself!

Perfect stay in Austin!

We were in town for a work conference and this place was perfect. Short ride down-town, house was just as pictured, comfortable beds, nice and clean overall and the hottub was clean and useable. Would definitely stay again!

The hosts are very communicative and have clearly gone out of their way to make the stay as easy as possible. Everything was taken care of / cleaned / provided as one would expect. Check-in and checkout were also a breeze. No complaints!

Family tume

Our experience was a home away from home. We loved the home itself, the neighborhood was quiet, safe and was in close proximity to everything without being in the city. The hosts were approachable and accommodating. They had clearly put time and attention into providing a good experience for their guests. We would highly recommend the property and, should we return to Austin, we’d try desperately to rent again. Perfect for quality family time.

Fabulous House - what attention to detail!

I would give this property more than 5 stars if I could! The house is fabulous and updated. There is also a spacious screened in porch and enclosed back yard. We loved all of the details like labeled cabinets and light switches, and face washcloths and q tips in bathroom. The house is close to Zilker Park and restaurants like Chuy’s. We highly recommend!

Austin Perfection!

We really enjoyed our stay at John’s place in Austin! It is in a quiet , upscale neighborhood. It is located near some outstanding Austin restaurants and entertainment ( Papalote, Amy’s Ice Cream, Matt’s El Rancho, The Broken Spoke to name a few). The house is beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean, with upgrades throughout. The beds are very comfortable ( super important!!). The house sits on a lovely wooded lot with a great back porch set up for dining or just relaxing. John is a very responsive host, great communication , and a very easy check in process. He cares that you have a great stay! We give our highest recommendation to John’s place and look forward to staying there again!!

Amazing rental!

What a great property! Excellent location, in a quiet neighborhood with all the amenities! Stayed for an extended weekend trip to Austin and already planning a return trip to this property. The house, especially the kitchen, had everything we needed as we cooked in most nights. The screened in patio was also amazing, and we loved drinking our coffee in the swings every morning. Highly recommended!

Wonderful!!!

My daughter and I spent a week at the BSB for her to attend nursing camp at University of Texas School of Nursing and enjoyed every moment here. The house is beautiful and equipped with everything you might need. The screened in porch is perfect for those late night relaxation times....wish the weather would have been cooler so we could have enjoyed it more. lol The hosts, even though out of the country at the time of our stay, were very quick to respond to our texts. There was a storm that came through one night and took a tree limb down onto the hot tub and power lines...there was someone there the next day to clean it all up!! The neighborhood was nice and quiet and only 15 minutes away from the campus, even during rush hour traffic:) We highly recommend this property and will definately stay here again on our next trip to Austin!!

Great place!

We really enjoyed stay at John's place for our nieces wedding. The location was perfect to all the wedding festivities and my brother wholes in the West Lake area. We travel with our little Yorkie pup and the backyard was perfect for her. the Screened porch was apace we sat every morning with our coffee and enjoyed just getting use to the time change or us. Hubby even did some of his conference calls for work on the screened porch so it really was a nice touch to have. The beds were totally comfy to the point hubby said what mattress is this ...we need a new mattress and are looking! I have a picky cookware issue wear I refuse to cook on teflon non stick pans as its so deal to your health. The chemical is called the forever chemical as it in forever in your body!!! Plus I have a digestive disorder where I can not drink regular coffee so I need a French press. They had a drip, Kurig and a French press so my son and hubby could have their coffee and I could have my Maya nut coffee! The neighborhood is super quiet and nice and felts safe there. We highly recommend this home for your visit to Austin!

Spring break road-trip getaway

Perfect VRBO for us! We will be back (2 adults and 3 teenage girls). The location was exactly what we wanted in a home away from home: quiet neighborhood in a great location. Check in and out was easy. Communication from owner was superb. Very comfortable beds and sofa. The screened in back area with hot tub, fireplace, wind chimes and comfortable chairs is everything anyone could need for relaxing.
