Fantastique ! Tout est parfait ! L'hôtel est magnifique à l'intérieur et tout est fait pour qu'on puisse s'y sentir très bien. La vue de la chambre donnant sur le Nil est incroyable. Agréables surprises et attentions à mon arrivée dans la chambre. Tout le personnel est agréable et se plie en 4 pour vous satisfaire dans la joie et la bonne humeur. Les deux piscines sont très appréciables. En bref une belle parenthèse où l'on est dans une véritable bulle. Bon petit déjeuner avec du choix, juste un petit problème avec le room service (mauvaise garniture du plat, différent de celui annoncé sur la carte/menu et en dessert les macarons sont très basiques) Excepté cela un séjour inoubliable !

Hotel légendaire qui a su évoluer depuis un siècle : un palace historique, et moderne. Situation sur le NIL face à l'Île Eléphantine extraordinaire. Personnel de très grande qualité, à disposition et à l'écoute. Un atout culinaire et gastronomique : le restaurant oriental avec le chef cuisinier Hamatto. Un des plus beaux lieux au monde!

Magnifique hôtel. Service irréprochable.
L’hotel Est superbement rénové. Les chambres deluxes vue nil sont immenses. La vue sur l’ile Éléphantine est à couper le souffle. Le service est irréprochable et le personnel accueillant. Un grand merci à Peter qui travail à la piscine pour son super service. J’y retournerai demain si je pouvais.

Séjour féerique au palais des 1001 nuits!
Français, revenez en Egypte! Et venez à Old Cataract à Assouan! "La, tout n'est qu'ordre et beauté, luxe, calme et volupté!". Un hôtel à l'histoire légendaire... qui surplombe le Nil et fait face à l'Île Elephantine. Un personnel de haut niveau de formation, très humain, chaleureux et tout en discrétion... Des restaurants variés et tous de qualité "à la française" comme on adore! Le plus beau site et le meilleur hôtel jamais fréquentés... Encouragements à ce que seuls des Français courtois et charmants, cultivés et passionnés d'histoire et par l'Egypte ne s'y rendent! Pour que le charme perdure et continue d'opérer encore un siècle!

Le meilleur hôtel d'Aswan.
Hôtel mythique, le Old Cataract ne possède plus actuellement les services d'un Palace​. Ça reste de loin le meilleur hôtel d'Aswan. Très bon Spa, le restaurant 1902 est animé par un excellent maître d'hôtel (Asma) épaulé d'une bonne équipe.L'emplacement de l'hôtel est unique, le panorama est exceptionnel. Très bonne expérience.

Sans doute un des plus grands hôtels au monde. Deuxième séjour en 6 mois, nous en revenons éblouis et n'attendons que la prochaine occasion d'y retourner. Et inutile de préciser que malgré les articles de presse, l'Egypte est un pays tranquille et sans aucun danger. Et la population merveilleusement accueillante, d'une rare qualité hospitalière.

Equipement plus que décevant
Climatisation extrèmement bruyante même en petite vitesse (nous avons du l'arrêter chaque fois que nous étions dans la pièce). La poignée de la porte de la salle de bains étant cassée, la nuit, j'ai du réveiller ma compagne pour qu'elle m'ouvre la porte de l'extérieur (j'étais enfermé dans la salle de bains)!

Iconic place filled with historical and majestic vibes. Everything was great. Food was delicious. The piano player at 1902 restaurant at dinner was phenomenal playing um Kalthoum and other classic Arabic music. Really memorable. The staff is polite and extra kind and gracious. The wooden stairs were not so clean and had webs at some corners.

This is a most luxurious hotel with large rooms with balconies, huge bath. And the bed is the softest--like sleeping on a cloud. Love the public spaces. A gem to be found in Aswan on the Nile. The food was only ok. But the service was great. We had the most expensive martini I have ever had at the bar! $42! But I would still return if in Aswan.

Magical setting right on the Nile! Beautiful and historic building, fabulous swimming pool and spa for relaxing (highly recommend Donya at the spa for massages and body scrub), fantastic restaurants (3), and the staff was so friendly and attentive. We spent New Year’s Eve and 6 days before on the property and it was a magical vacation. Visits of historic sites in the mornings and then relaxing by the pool in the afternoons. Perfect vacation

My wife and I stayed at this Historical hotel so look over the Niles, to experience a part of history, and also to enjoy a bit of luxury in a classy way. This hotel meets all of our expectation. About the only negative thing is that's a bit far from the airport, and haggling with the local taxi driver requires way too much effort.

Truly magnificent with spectacular view
Beautiful room with incredible view. Marina from Guest Relations was fabulous, organised a special cake for my husbands birthday which was most appreciated. Housekeeping and room service staff were lovely and helpful. Fabulous service from the bar staff. Gorgeous hotel full of history and beautifully renovated. We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time staying in the Old Cataract Hotel. The hotel was beautiful, excellent amenities with very friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend staying there if you have a chance.

We had multiple bookings for this property and both were great. Our first was in the original building with a garden view. The rooms are older but very well maintained so they don't feel old or dated in any way, plus they are quite large. Staying in this building is very convenient for dining as all the restaurants but the Egyptian grill are here including the breakfast buffet. Our second booking had us in the newer building with a Nile view. This room was amazing, pretty much apartment size and the balcony was quite large with AMAZING views of the Nile and sunset. Of the two I would definitely choose the newer building rooms as my favorite but both were great. Staff at the hotel were fantastic. Breakfast was delicious but doesn't have any serving stations like a buffet, so no eggs. Dinners were just okay. Their food seems to cater to elderly British tastes. The best of the restaurants was the Egyptian one at the newer building. All that said the stay was amazing and by far the best hotel in Aswan.

This hotel is an oasis in the middle of a chaotic area on the Nile. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and it's staff. This is a top notch place to stay exceeding all of my expectations. The location is terrific, the rooms are oversized in the new wing, and boats are docked right at the hotel for taxi rides up the river. The ambiance is romantic and relaxing, with a spa on site. I will return to this one!
