The property location is very central location to all shopping and restaurants which were just a short walk away. Restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Lots of of street parking. Staff were not so friendly and kept stuffing up our room key access, which we had to keep resetting as it didn't work which was quite annoying. Water pressure was very poor and outdated shower head. Would recommend.

Tired needs a reno.
The building is tired and dated. The lift is from the 80s. Rooms are lack luster and a bit dusty. The grander more expensive rooms are actually more in need of work than the cheaper rooms. Im not sure this place is great value for money. Quite expensive considering what you get. Old tvs as well. Who built the toilet bowls so close to the wall? The staff however were FANTASTIC, always friendly and well groomed. Cleaning staff were very friendly also. The management team went out of thier way to make me feel welcomed and respected., they deserve to be working in a nicer hotel.

Staff very welcoming and helpful throughout stay. All facilities needed available. Very comfortable bed. Despite being slightly dated building, room and property have great facilities and location and was very clean. Would definitely stay again.

For an elderly couple the elevator was not working and their was no customer recovery. An offer of a voucher to the restaurant would have beeb good management, but there wasn't.

Not up to usual standard.
The room was large, clean and well equipped. Unfortunately on arrival found the lift was unserviceable and had to access the second floor room by the firecstairs. Was very difficult for mobility impaired people and would be impossible if needed assistance. Resturant standard was good but is on the expensive side for a hotel. Service was quite slow and the overall impression is there was a shortage of staff. Not receiving notice that the lift was u/s and the problems this created detracted from the visit.

Elevator not working - this advice offered after reservation made. Refund only possible from Wotif/ Expedia - hotel staff had a “not our problem” attitude. My wife has a bad back and is asthmatic. I suppose I should be grateful our room on second floor and not the fourth?? Room was clean and comfortable.

we were not advised before arriving the lifts were not working, its big ask for people to go up and down 3 flights of stairs, particularly after just having knee surgery, we arrived Saturday they were still not working when we left on Monday, staff was very accommodating they did give us another room on level 1 after letting them know of our predicament, I was told there would be no extra charge because we were moved from a room with 1 king bed to a room with 1 queen and 1 single bed, we should have been advised prior to arrival and would have sought out other accommodation, and the bathrooms do not have exhaust fans!!! thats not normal

The lift was out of operation during my stay making the trip up to level 4 a bit inconvenient. The 1 x free drink voucher wasn't a great recognition of the inconvenience caused.

The restaurant has a very limited menu, only 4 main meals and no standard meals like fish and chips, bangers and mash, seafood.

The room had some maintenance issues that need to be attended to: Cabinet door to fridge enclosure needed to be adjusted and screws tightened. Bedside cabinet top draw needs adjusting or reset with new runners. Blown globe or fault to wall light.

This hotel was fine. For the Mercure brand and for the price I was probably expecting it to feel a bit more polished and upmarket but it was clean and everything worked.

Nice hotel location fabulous
Great location we could walk around town with ease. Hotel was nice. I think my bed was a little on the old side sagging in the middle. Didn’t sleep well. My other friends had no complaints about beds. Must be in progress of updating rooms.

Just a hotel room. Bathroom light and bright. Pillows too high and bed sunk in the middle. Neck was stiff the next day as I felt I was sleeping at an angle. Right in town, so good location. Overnight is okay but wouldn’t stay long term.
