Great Place to stay
As ever our stay at the Hare & Hounds was everything it should be - rooms were beautifully clean, reception incredibly helpful , food amazing - our regular go to in the Cotswolds

A return visit.
Having stayed at the Hare and Hounds many times over the years, there is nothing quite like a visit over a festive period. The place was buzzing, lots of people enjoying their Christmas outing. If you prefer a quieter atmosphere then this is not the time for you...........the staff were working flat out to see that everyone was catered for, not in any way an easy task with such a rambling building. There seemed to be people in every inch of the hotel. My stay was as always most pleasant, all be it a short one this time.

Lovely hotel, a few rough spots
Lovely property, but a few things need attention before I’d recommend it. The rooms, though well-appointed, had a few rough spots — the windows wouldn’t quite close fully, which made the party in the hotel event hall very loud. The WiFi didn’t really work in the room, and the TV kept switching over to the hotel menu after about 30sec on a channel. We were staying in the family room, which is right next to the event hall, and the music kept the kids up until midnight. It’s a shame as the hotel is beautiful, the food was lovely, and the staff were all welcoming and helpful.

Superb staff very friendly and Very helpfull. The hotel itself is amazing and the food was exceptional but the room itself was I felt a little tired. But I would thoroughly recommend to anyone to stay here if they get the chance.

Wedding in the Hare and Hounds. Hotel.
The hotel itself is beautiful very clean. We stayed Saturday night for a family wedding. As I need to use a disability walking frame I asked for a ground floor room. Our room was quite a walk from the main building and there was a high step into the room I needed help with. “ wingnut” was a very cold room.

More care and it could be a 5 star review.
Decent chain hotel that just needs a few constructive criticisms. Food was uninspiring needed more flavour and cold. Staff need to be more knowledgeable and welcoming and definitely should not be contacting the bridal party asking for the bill to be paid the night before a big day. Disappointing unhappy staff letting down what should be a good venue.

this hotel has very pretty old buildings and grounds. the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was great for visiting the surrounding towns in the Cotswold's.

This was a lovely old mansion house with great history and character. Lots of long winding corridors. Lovely rooms to sit in such as the library. Outdoor grounds were pretty and ideal for weddings. Loved the cute Gin Palace van. Dinner in the bar was good overall. Some items pricey for what they were. It was unusual to have a pork chop on a plate, a little piece of Pak Choi and so have to order potatoes. I had the broccoli and quinoa salad which was delicious and so big I couldn’t finish it. Classic room was fine but nothing special. Toiletries were Moulton Brown ones and tea bags were lovely tea pigs, with biscuits and fresh milk. The bed was very comfortable and had a great night’s sleep. The pillows a stuck out of the pillow cases and the pillow protectors had seen better days. Bathroom spacious with plenty of hot water, fluffy towels and robes. Good value for an overnight stay. Breakfast to die for!

A beautiful property, but far from the relaxing experience we were expecting at a country hotel - phone videos playing in the bar restaurant, doors banging in the corridor, constant late night comings and goings, loud conversations taking place for over an hour in the lobby/reception area near our room. Won’t be staying again.

An Excellent Cotswolds Hotel
A truly enjoyable stay. The room was a decent size and our view over garden was very pleasant. Everything was properly clean and everything worked as it should. Our meal in the bar was nicely presented, tasty and well cooked as was the excellent breakfast. However it is the quality of service that really made our stay memorable. Everyone was friendly and welcoming and provided great service.

We went to many cities and several hotels in the Cotswold's. The Hare and Hound was a standout among the plethora of standouts in Cotswold. Stunning, old-world beauty in a convenient and peaceful location. Services were all exceptional. The Hare and Hound was both a delightful place to stay and surprisingly economical.

Birthday treat gone wrong
Problems with TV spoiled the start of the stay - no standard UK channels available. Receptionist kept referring to us (well into 70´s and on my 80th birthday) as « Guys »….offensive. Failed to correct TV faults. Good bar and restaurant service but drinks prices well over the top. Restaurant front of house and meals first class.
