“Relaxing in Rio”
Most people don't go to Rio looking for a quiet getaway, but if you're one of those people who's willing to try something different, the Rio 180 is for you. Spectacular views, peaceful surroundings, and wonderfully attentive staff make this a great place to stay. One of the owners is a chef who conjures up dishes that are appealing to both the eyes and the palate, and everyone is friendly and welcoming. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!
“Best Hotel in RIOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!”
I loved this hotel and the employees. The hotel had great views of the Christ Statue and Sugar Loaf. The hotel itself was designed beautifully and architecturally interesting. I would definitely recommend my friends to visit this hotel and I would most definitely come back. The hotel also has a personal chef. The chef made the best food in all of Brazil. I had visited many restaurants and in my opinion the personal chef was phenomenal. No joke. I give this hotel an A+++
“1st International Trip”
This was me and my girlfriend's first trip together. I have to say we were welcomed by a great group of people at the hotel. There are 8 rooms which are like suites. Upon check in we asked if we could be upgraded which Jean allowed. The hotel has amazing views. We ended up taking as many pictures at the hotel as we did when we went sightseeing. Continental breakfast is provided daily consisted of cheeses, meats, breads, fresh squeezed juice, and scrambled eggs. There is also an in house cook named Sandra who is like a mother. She cooks excellent food and on nights where you want to relax at the hotel you won't be disappointed. The number 1 negative isn't the hotel's fault at all. It's the location. If you're coming to Rio to enjoy the beaches, shopping, nightlife, etc, this isn't a good place to stay. You take a cab EVERYWHERE. We would have saved between 200-300 US if we stayed in Copacabana (not our room, the city). A majority of the cab drivers don't even know how to get to the hotel. Extremely frustrating with the language barrier and very uncomfortable if its at 3 or 4 in the morning. Overall, excellent hotel and great staff. I'll definitely be going back to Brazil and even if I don't stay here I will stop by to visit the great staff.
“Not my kind of hotel.”
The location is not convenient, too far from the beach areas. Taxi drivers mostly can't find the place so a R$17 trip to the beach cost R$30 each way. View is great and it's very quiet this boutique hotel has 8 suites only. I personally like full service hotel with amenities so I wasn't impressed. They don't change towel or clean your garbage everyday so be prepare to live with them during your whole stay. There're jetpool in each room but mine didn't work. A lot of stairs so if you have big bags, be ready to use some muscles. The attendent did help but depends on who's on duty, you may prefer to carry the bags yourself.
“Bleiben Sie diesem Hotel fern!”
Das Rio 180 Suites & Cuisine ist ein sehr kleines Hotel im Stadtteil Santa Teresa. Die Anreise ist nicht unproblematisch, die Taxifahrer kennen das Hotel nicht, und die fahrt geht durch sehr einsame Strassen in einen weit abgelegenen Teil der Stadt - gerade Nachts und alleine keine sehr angenehme Anreise. In der Naehe des Hotels ist ueberhaupt nichts, die Gegend ist so dass man sich kaum zu Fuss vor die Tuer traut. Die einzige Moeglichkeit in die Stadt zu kommen ist per Taxi, das auch nicht ganz billig ist. Das Hotel selber ist eine schoene Anlage mit einem fantastischen Blick ueber Rio de Janeiro. Die Zimmer sind schoen eingerichtet, von der Ausstattung entspricht das Haus einem 4-Sterne Hotel. Das ist allerdings auch das einzig positive das sich ueber das Hotel sagen laesst. Ich hatte die "Cosy" Suite "Jardin Botanico" gebucht. Bei betreten des Zimmers schlaegt einem ein Geruch nach Urin wie in einer Bahnhofs-Toilette entgegen, das Bad ist offen und geht in den Raum ueber, so dass der Geruch sich auch in den Schlafbereich zieht. Im Bett waren Haare der Vormieter, das Laken war voller unbekannter Flecken, auf dem Kopfkissen schwarze Abdruecke von irgendwas. Das Personal konnte kein Englisch oder wollte kein Englisch sprechen, so dass es nicht moeglich war, fuer Abhilfe zu sorgen. Ich bin nach einer Nacht voller Ekel dort ausgezogen. Diese Hotel auf keinen Fall buchen!
