“des murs plus fins qu'un papier à cigarette !”
Si vous souhaitez partager les communications téléphoniques ou les émissions de la personne qui occupe la chambre d'à côté, c'est l'hôtel qu'il faut choisir ! Et quand la personne est bavarde ou souffre d'insomnies, vous n'êtes pas prêt de dormir !!
“Have stayed here many times”
Have stayed at this hote many times and always returned. security is very high and location to city is good. recommend.
“You get what you pay for”
Good enough for the low price, excellent location, pleasant staff and good taxi service to the airport.
“If nothing else is available stay here”
I thought that the Six Eighty was the worst hotel I had ever stayed in, but I went to India and stayed at the Savoy Suites. Now, I long for a SixEighty in Mumbai.
“ok hOTEL IN CENTRAL NAIROBI”
Hotel is ok and has a really good central location. The hotel as such is dated (looks as if it from the sixties) but despite this it provides a clean and comfortable place to stay in the middle of town. Food whilst not al carte is good with good size portions. Disco from the place opposite was loud on the friday night. The staff are ok but Charles one of the poters is outstanding and cannot do enough to help. would have no hesitaion (apart from the music on Fri) in recomending this Hotel
“central location”
the hotel is centrally located which is great for visiting the market and such. however, try and get a room higher than the 5th floor (there are 10 floors) as there is a casino at the bottom of the hotel which is a bit noisy. they play music, which i quite liked actually, but might not be for everyone. the breakfast is very good, including fresh juices, fruits and a very wide selection of hot food, including local food which was good to see on the menu. the staff here were very friendly too, even the chef came out to say good morning and ask us if we were enjoying the food, which we were! the room was clean. it has a safety deposit box. i travelled with my 9 year old boy which was fine, he enjoyed himself here because we had a view of the street which fun. TV, fridge, plenty of sockets to re-charge your stuff.
“Not Impressed”
Would not recommend. Hotel was run down and no way a 3 star hotel, not even by African standards. Rooms are like nothing has been replaced or painted in about 30 years. After a long trip which included lots of camping was really looking forward to a hot shower. There was no hot water in my hotel room and you had to hold the shower head as was not attached to the wall. Did meet people from the hotel that had been robbed as little as 200 feet from the hotel. Not sure if it is a bad area or just Nairobi in general
“Better than Expected”
We weren't sure what to expect at all but read other reviews and the SixEighty sounded alright. When we got there, it was kinda nice to have security at the front entrance and then when we went in, they took photocopies of our passports. Not sure if that's a normal thing or not but it didn't bother us as we felt it was a good security measure. The room was not quite what I had expected seeing as though I'm used to hotel/motels in North America but it was nice that there was at least a hand held shower head (and was never out of hot water! SO nice!). The front desk day manager was EXCEPTIONAL!! I had luggage issues at the airport and he helped us make calls to our insurance company, told us that he would accept our luggage and keep it at the front if it arrived while we were out because the SixEighty is pretty well known with the airline we flew with, ALSO was willing to be a main contact for us with the airline even after we checked out and went on to touring without access to a regular phone contact. He was amazing. Simmers bar across the street is fun but goes until the wee hours of the morning so to those who are light sleepers, you may want to check out another place. I recommend this hotel to those who aren't "picky" travellers and who like to save a little money. We had a great time there!
“Pretty Nice”
Its one of the oldest hotels in town, there is a casino inside the hotel which means theres alot of diff people comin in in out, good service, friendly staff, ok food you get what you pay for!!!
“Nairobi Visit”
Location was excellent i.e central to all amenities. However it was opposite a beer garden that was very noisy until early in the morning. The manager was very helpful and tried his best to meet our needs given the facilities that he had available. I would stay there again but would stress the need for a quiet room. It is a value for money rather than a luxury hotel.
