Good location

Good budget friendly hotel in south beach. Resort fee is a joke it's just to make extra $$$. But it was nice and quiet for ocean drive.

Only stayed for one night, bathroom too small

Very clean, however, bathroom too small, also the window blinds were not working properly and my window was facing the next door hotel room had to turn the light off in order to change my clothes. If I had to stay longer than one night this would've been a bigger issue.

Good size room , and location is good. Only complaint no microwave in room.

Small room, Friendly staff

Pros: The hotel is literally across the street from the beach. It is within walking distance to clubs, restaurants, and nearby shops. Housekeeping kept the room fairly clean. Most staff members were friendly and attentive to guest needs. Cons: The check-in time for 3pm was not honoured and we had to wait until 5pm to finally enter our room. The standard room with 2 beds is VERY small for a group of 3 girls. You can literally touch the bed when you open the door to the room. Luggage needed to be stored in between the beds and wall, making it hard to maneuver around the room. The faucet in our bathroom was not functional. There is an EXTRA RESORT FEE NOT included in Expedia's charge for your stay. EXTRA RESORT FEE covers: breakfast, beach towels and welcome drink tickets.

Good location, but the hotel is not the best. The rooms are located close to a service door, and sometimes you cannot sleep.

Ocean front view.

I visited South beach for the first time, and I found the penguin hotel on expedia for a really good price. I bought it, and decided to stay for my 24th birthday weekend. It was the best visit I've ever had on vacation. Staff were friendly & social, drinks/food was great, the room cleaner cleaned the room every day; it was an automatic great four day stay.

Reasonable hotel in great location

Les - : We were charged an extra 2 x 19 dollars resort fee, which was compulsory and was not made clear when booking.
Situation : Right on Ocean drive, excellent location
Good sized room, we had a corner room with a view over Ocean Drive. Decor in the room was good, but painting in the corridors was pretty shabby. Good to have breakfast included.

Great location. Place is dated. Waiters sucked. Cleaning ladies were nice that's about it.

You get what you pay for. This was a good hotel at a good price. I do recommend if you are on a budget but still want something decent. If you want Ritz Carlton then you should go pay for Ritz Carlton.
