“Excellent Madrid airport transit hotel!”

We chose the TRYP Alameda Aeropuerto hotel for our overnight transit at Madrid airport enroute from Tenerife to Houston based primarily on the following services it promised on its online website: 24-hr airport shuttle bus early coffee/juice service beginning at 3:30am free internet service for Melia Sol MAS frequent traveler members (with internet for a fee for non-MAS guests) The hotel delivered each of these with the addition of excellent and friendly service by all staff members with whom we were involved as well as a clean and spacious room that met with our satisfaction in all regards. The hotel common areas (restaurant, bar, lounge areas, lobby area) were not luxurious but were more than adequate for any overnight traveler. We cannot comment on the hotel's external neighborhood and public access as we used it solely as an overnight stopover - never leaving the hotel. Thus our recommendation of this hotel to others is limited to its use as an "airport transit hotel".

“Convenient to Airport, Great room.”

The hotel was very nice and the breakfast was great. Great selection of hot and cold foods. A bit of a challenge to find the hotel with our rental car, but, the GPS got us there. After returning the rental car we took the shuttle to and from the airport. It was a breeze, just 10 minutes. The front desk was busy, but, efficient. It was dark when we arrived and when we left, so, do not know what the neighborhood looked like. The Internet was very good in the room. The room ammenities were definitely four star all the way. Bed and bathroom were both top notch. From our one night experience, we would definitely stay again on our next trip through Madrid.

“Close to the airport”

Clean, comfortable airport hotel. Basic buffet food in restaurant (probably to encourage using the room service) but discovered local bars just outside. 10 min walk to metro. Have to call for the shutdtle service

“OK for an overnight near the airport.”

The hotel looks great inside and out. Staff were not overly friendly. We skipped the breakfast buffet - seemed too expensive and we got a good desayuno at a cafe around the corner. You have to pay for wi-fi and internet. Two computers in the lobby - one not working and the other busy a lot of the time. Room was quiet. Only 2 pillows and if you want a different kind you have to go down to the desk. There was a line of 12 people checking in when I went down, so I just slept on what they provided in the room. The shuttle to the airport was punctual.

“Suited my needs”

Just staying one night between cities. Convenience to the airport and transportation availability were important factors. Much nicer than I expected.

“Great Airport Hotel”

If you have to stay close to the airport in Madrid, this is a great and reasonably priced hotel. It provides a good shuttle services to the airport. The only downside was that WiFi was not available in the room, I needed a cable and there are cost associated with it. I personally believe that WiFi in hotel rooms is the same as having running water and electricity. I want WiFi and I do not want to pay extra for it. Make sure that you include breakfast in your reservation. No other places close to the hotel to eat breakfast. Breakfast with reservation is 11E without reservation 18E. Breakfast is good. Lunch was also reasonably priced and very adequate. Love the wine that is always included with lunch in Spain.

“Close to airport, fine except wi-fi”

In the age of free wi-fi, these are you choices: --REALLY 2 Euros per hour to surf web in the lobby or if you have an ethernet cord, plug in in your room 4 Euros per hour for web access that will let you read your email, bank, expedia account, and check in for your flight 6 Euros per hour to use hotel computer in the lobby Nice clean new hotel near airport with free shuttle.

“Not the best”

This hotel caters to short term guests and airline emergencies. Checkin and front desk services are very slow and inefficient, and done as a bureaucratic requirement without a welcoming smile etc. The restaurant food is very institutional and not at all good.
