The property had served its purpose, we were only staying one night in New York for a volleyball tournament. However, given the choice next year, I would choose a different place to stay. Upon arrival the room looks clean, however, there was a very pungent smell, which included cigarette smoke, marijuana and dirtiness. The bathroom was unusable, and the cockroach infestation was just plain disgusting. on the other hand, the woman at the front desk couldn’t be more than helpful and answered any, and all questions I had during the say.

Dear Guest: We are so sorry to hear the room was not up to par, we truly apologize for the smell and we are sure you are referring to the look of the shower. I can personally assure you it was clean. This particular shower was refurnished and it was supposed to be left unused for 24 hours but unfortunately was used way before, causing the shower to have its actual appearance. The cockroach issue is new to us, the previous guests staying failed to mention there was this problem in that room, but thank you for letting us know so we can take care of it immediately. We are glad we were able to help you with your questions. Thank you for your feedback. Definitely will help us to fix any and provide better lodging for our guests. Incredible dirty! Wish I could attach pictures. The Stench of smoke on staff and in the room was quite overwhelming! I asked for wipes...would have cleaned myself but they refused to give me anything. I went and bought my own and cleaned. They tried barging in my room early Friday morning...."The city is here to inspect your room. You have to let us in". Neither person hand ID or paperwork. Nor did they look professional. The door was promptly closed in their face and they were told to come back on their time....not mine. I did watch, I believe, the manager talking with another guest having some mental issues and she was reassuring her nicely.

Dear Karla: City inspections are done randomly and by surprise. Never was our intention to cause you or any other guests any type of inconvenience. As for the cleanliness of your room, we apologize but we do not have wipes and we are sorry you found the room not to par with your standards, although the "dirt" happened to be a cleaning product applied to clean and make the surfaces shine. About the smoke smell in your room, unfortunately, some guests do not comply with rules and smoke inside the rooms and we charge for that. Regarding our staff smelling like smoke, every staff member who smokes is entitled, as long as they do not smoke in prohibited areas or interfere with their duties, to a smoke break, so sorry this was an inconvenience for you. Sometimes our guests are going through situations and if you can help in any way to make them feel just a little bit better, then is the right thing to do. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for staying with us.

A receptionist surrounded by bullet-proof glass gave me some idea what to expect. Room was clean /mattress was comfortable. Walls were so thin I could hear EVERYTHING said/done by my neighbors. Property is in DIRE need of renovation. Parking is inadequate. Overall, not a place I will stay in again.

The property itself is your average motel, it gets the job done, but there was a lot of shady people hanging out in the parking lot, not sure if they were staying at the motel or just using the parking lot.

I am not sure how there were good reviews on this location. It has become very disheartening that you can no longer even hope that the pictures of hotels are close to what they reality is. We checked in and ended up not even staying, returned the room key 15 minutes later and found another hotel. Did not feel safe in this establishment at all. While I understand red roof inns are not 5 star hotels, I have stayed in other locations before that were not this bad. The location almost appeared to be more geared toward being long term stay sites (which I understand happens), people hanging outside the rooms all over (no privacy), needles in the parking lot, people smoking weed outside room door, the tub in the room.....stained almost completely black by something, the room itself almost felt as if it was converted into a room from something else (very thin walls, door did not seem secure). This is not a hotel to stay at with children. I am very upset that money was spent on such a situation and it will be a nightmare to get my money back which I rightly deserve, I don't care what the policies state when purchasing the room, if a location was that bad and unsafe that I leave within 15 minutes of checking in....I clearly was not satisfied and hotels should not get to keep money for a dissatisfaction. Apps and sites need to start having a verification process that locations are what they appear to be in pictures and descriptions. If they don't, they shouldn't be listed.

Our room had a full size fridge, microwave and a hot plate. This made for an easy breakfast. The bed were very comfortable. Wish there would have been mugs or a kettle to heat water for tea. Definitely better than camping!

We found you made 2 reservations that were not in our system due to the fact that we were sold out, we did not have rooms available. The door connecting my room to the neighbors did NOT have a lock on it!!! I simply opened it up and was able to see inside. I leaned a chair against it with a bunch of stuff on it in that would fall off and make noise if they other person did the same thing opening the door. I was absolutely shocked!!! i can't believe this is even legal.

Have you informed us about it, we would have closed the door. This door leads to a housekeeping room, not to another guest room. Everything was great! The only thing I suggest is to have an area for smoking that we can sit down.

Adjoining rooms can be heard. Room was in disrepair. Shower is small. Hair dryer not available in room.

Dear Guest: We are sorry for any inconvenience. Some guests are loud and forget they are staying at a hotel. The type of room you stayed in, does not come with a hair dryer, nevertheless, we have hair dryers at our Front Desk for our guest's convenience. Showers are standard size for the square footage available in our bathrooms. We appreciate your business. Thank you for your feedback and for staying with us.

Dear Guest: Although you are not specific about any inconvenience you had during your whole stay, arriving on October 23 as a secondary guest and then renewing your stay on a daily basis, under your name on October 25 until your check-out on October 26 staying in the same room, and having no record of any issue, we apologize for any inconvenience.
