This property had nasty checkin because it is named Maple Hotel and they would not honor restervation by expedia, as they say they have not been OYO for a long time. Refused to even tell me if a room was available

The subject property, 2444 Maple Ave, Burlington , NC, is no longer OYO Hotel Burlington South, but Maple Motel. I was told by the attendent at the office they haven't accepted online reservations in a long time and if I was to stay there I was required to pay additional funds more than I paid online for the reservation and an additional deposit. The place was TRASH, appeared there were Section 8 housing tenants everywhere......I WANT ALL OF MY MONEY BACK, THIS IS A SCAM, NEVER THOUGHT EXPEDIA WAS LIKE THIS...

This hotel is deceiving; BEWARE!! After reserving two rooms with Orbitz, we arrived to check in. The hotel staff told her they “don’t take reservations” and she could not check in. This create a huge issue and after speaking with Orbitz and representatives from OYO (overseas customer service number) we were told nothing could be done. The hotel “saw” my reservation but she could not check in because they only service people who arrive daily and request rooms. Again, no reservations yet they could see mine in the system. Funny, right?! After hours of phone calls and finally getting in contact with a Burlington NC desk agent for OYO, they told us the hotel was no longer affiliated with OYO (since May 22) and requested Orbitz to call them. Funny, since this should have been the hotel’s responsibility back in May. This is where we lost it and cancelled our hokie reservations and chose a more reputable hotel. Lesson learned you pay for what you get and these people and establishment should be avoided at all costs. It is deceitful beyond all comprehension and Orbitz didn’t even know what was going on.

The hotel is permanently closed and we were not notified. Drove up to check in at 10pm and had to scramble to arrange alternate accommodation.

My Hotels.com booking was denied. The hotel stated that they were not accepting online reservations after 1 May ‘23. I don’t know why my booking was confirmed by email response from Hotels.com if that was the case. I was sent additional emails up until a couple of days prior to arriving at the hotel…which assured me my booking was set.

The front clerk was rude upon check in. When he requested the $150 cash deposit that I was unaware of he told me to cancel the reservation. The hotel appears to be going thru renovations however it was sketchy and the employees were not friendly.

Was here for a music festival and this was the cheapest option within an hour as most of the others were booked. It fit my needs for my stay but wasnt impressed. First off the require a CASH deposit for the room. They wouldnt let me put it on my card. They took 100 istead of the 150 in cash since that was all i had on me. My guess they do that in hopes that you forget about your deposit if you decide to check out over the phone. The sheets and pillowcases had stains on them. I put shirts on my pillows cause i wasnt trying to lay my head on them. The comforter was full of holes which lopked like cigarette burns. The refrigerator barely worked. It took overnight for a couple cans of soda to get slightly cold. They dont provide cups and dont have an ice machine...or at least they didnt offer a bucket for you to get ice. They didnt even have extra toilet paper and the roll in the provided was more than halfway used. The beds were alright just really bouncy. The only things that really worked like they were supposed to were the AC and the microwave Again it suited my needs but if you have other options i would look elsewhere

The motel does not have the correct signage. I had to stop and ask someone where the address was.

Almost, but not quite.
Satisfactory, but could have been good to great...no phone , no clock, poor quality TV, no mini fridg, microwave inop, no coffee pot, no morning breakfast fixing of any kind, no ice machine and the outside area not keeps up at all...just to mention a few things. The room was very good, recently renovated, the mattress was poor quality...too firm and lumpy.

The price was likeable Then you get there and realize how stupid you were.....this was 3rd worldly. It was absolutely like the "other side" of town if you were in Dominica or Mexico. Dirty, unkempt, very dissappointed. My wife refused to stay and we had to find another hotel. This has never happened to me before.

I came all the way from Georgia just to get there to the doors closed and no where on the booking says they are closed by 11 so literally had to waste more money to find another place to stay 😡

Cockroaches… on top of that I had a “non-smoking” room, but it had burn holes in the blankets, and ash in the cabinets next to the bed. I didn’t stay the full weekend. I got a new hotel.

When we arrived late at night around 1:30 AM we were told that the property had a power outage and we could not stay there. And we could go to Hotels.com to get a refund. When Hotels.com tried to contact the property they were not answering the phone. I’m Still trying to get my money back.

This hotel looked sort of luxurious on the pictures in the app but looked like a dump in person. I wasn’t even able to stay because when I attempted to check in, they didn’t have my room available due to a “partial power outage”. I will never visit this establishment again.

Their night staff Tabitha and the sheets were clean. I was very disappointed the carpets were filthy, the bathroom had moles, there is no elevator and no one to help with bags the heater rattled all night, the fridge in my room did not work. I was on the 2nd floor and had to make 2 trips with my bags. There were cobwebs everywhere, my towels were not changed, they sat outside my door for close to 2 days. There was a party downstairs hosted by guest who were not guest of the hotel. In the middle of the night I was awoken by a hammering on my door. The party goers were allowed to access where guests were staying. They were drunk and thought it was funny to knock on doors and wake the guests up and then ran off. The grounds looked like a wreck, broken furniture were strewn all over and the lobby was full of broken down equipment. There was no phone in the room so if I needed anything from the front desk or had a complaint like when the party goers kept knocking on my door I could not contact the front desk. The number listed for the hotel did not work so, I couldn't call from my cell phone either. I was scared but I was afraid to open my door. I almost called 911.The room did not have a glass or a spoon or a plate for that matter, I wanted to make some tea when I arrived at 1.00 AM at night and was unable to do so. The day receptionist told me it was not a restaurant and did not have cups. THIS IS NOW WHAT'S ADVERTISED. PLEASE READ THE REVIEWS. IT'S A REALLY AWFUL PLACE TO STAY.
