BEWARE FRAUDULENT CHARGES

We stayed one night at this hotel after camping in the National Park, because there were still a few things we wanted to do for an extra day. The room was okay nothing great not really that clean. They have a little back balcony where there was an ashtray overflowing with cigarette butts had not been cleaned. Checked out the next day around 10:30 and headed home. That night I checked my account online and they had a charge of $200 plus the room charge. I only had $209 in checking at the time so who knows what amount they started with before getting it to go through. I called and talked to the night manager which told me the television looked like someone had punched it and that they could not rent out the room. WHAT???? I informed him that the television was fine when we left watched a little before bed and didn't even turn it on the next morning. He said I am sorry but the maid checked the room you were the only one who had access and the charges will stand. I left a message for the manager to call me back. He didn't. I finally talked to him and he said he would check out the damage, maybe the maid did it and call me back. He didn't. I called him back and told him that I had disputed the charge with my bank and talked with the Sevierville Police Dept. he said he would not dispute the letter from the bank. Soooo even though the money was refunded it was only because of the dispute I made with our bank and it still took ten business days to be credited back.

Basic, colorful, no frills room

Les + : I like the fact that every thing I needed was nearby. The updating makes a big difference in the atmosphere of the room. It felt warm and welcoming.
Les - : More electrical outlets. Better fitting doors or insulation in gaps to keep outside air outside. Can floor be swept/dust-mopped daily?
Situation : Belks, TJ Maxx, Dollar General, etc are around the corner. There are at least 2 good BBQ restaurants north of the hotel on the same street.
I had a single room that had been updated and looked nice. The walls had been painted and the floor had the look of hardwood. At first glance, the room looked nice, but it isn't for everyone. The bed and couch aren't new. The bed was fine, but you could tell it wasn't new. The couch in my room appeared to be the next item on the list of things to replace. The TV looked new. The heater/AC unit had knobs, but you couldn't adjust the temperature. It did a great job of cooling the room. There aren't many free outlets if you have gadgets. I had to buy an outlet extender so that I could use my laptop and charge my phone. There was a microwave in the room, but wasn't plugged in (cord too short to reach the outlet??). Kleenex isn't provided. No clock either. I had a second floor room. The toilet flushed differently than I expected. I had to hold the handle longer than usual to flush the toilet. There was plenty of hot water. There is a balcony, but there was a big spider web in the doorway that I didn't feel like dealing with. The part that may make your stay unpleasant is the gaps doors. The street sounds were unusually loud and I felt it was because of the gaps in the front door. The staff was very pleasant. There are stores and places to eat in walking (if you like walking) distance. Its a good no frills room that is a good deal (when you pay the lowest price) because of its location. I would stay here again.

Great price for a priceless view!!!!

Wasn't expecting much for the price, but to our surprise the room was spacious, hardwood floors, mini frig., microwave, clean. Front desk was welcoming. But the bonus was the backdoor to the room, which opened to a small channel were ducks come to your patio. Beautiful view for a economical price!!!!!

Riverview Inn & Suites

We needed a hotel that would accommodate a truck with a trailer attached. We were routed to this hotel by Expedia. The staff were very accommodating and made sure we had a place to park when we had to move our vehicle. The room was nice with a King size bed, which slept very well. We didn't have any soap in the room and did have to ask for some in the lobby, which was readily made available. Overall, very satisfied with this hotel for a weekend trip.

Stayed for a week

Les + : We loved the space in the room, Didn't feel cramped in a small space for a week. TV was large and in an area that was viewable from everywhere.
Les - : Electical outlets, alarm clock in the room.
Situation : Near Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg. Close access to the Smokey Mountains.
My Husband and I stayed for a week. First impressions. Outside - Didn't look that great. Staff was pleasant. Inside our room. We had a Standard King Room. It was clean and very large. We were troubled that there were no extra outlets in the room for charging electronics etc. No alarm clock in the room. The microwave was in a spot that was unable to be plugged in. The pull out couch - Which we never used was there, however the cushions were sunken. The view from our private balcony was beautiful. We could watch the sunset in the evening (If we were back yet) The morning was peacful with the little stream in the back full of Ducks and Geese. The pool was very small. We had wanted to go, but it just never looked inviting. The water pressure for the showers was phenomenal. The rooms were neat, tidy and clean when we returned each day.

Les + : The location and the price
Les - : The rooms were a little dusty. Nothing bad, just could have used a touch up.
Situation : The location is just a few minutes from Pigeon Forge and not far from Gatlinburg and the Smoky Mtn. National Park
The hotel is located close to Pigeon Forge. The view of the stream with the ducks and geese in a nice bonus, as is the walking/biking trail.

I was a bit hesitant to book such a cheap room especially since I saw a few unfavorable reviews, but lets just say I'm glad I didn't let a few bad reviews keep me from saving some money. The hotel backs right up the the river and there is a pasture beyond that so it was nice to sit out on the back patio. The room was updated, and relatively clean, although I am a neat freak so don't let that dissuade you. The pool was rather small, but we were only staying over night before heading back home and really just needed a place to lay our heads. You can tell the owner takes pride in his business and keeps things maintained. My only complaint would be that the amenities listed a Continental breakfast, and there wasn't one. The only thing they had was coffee and a small box of Krispy Kremes, but I'm not complaining, as I paid under $50 for the room. Well worth it! I think some negative reviews came from people expecting to pay close to nothing and get a pent house suite.....Seriously?!?!

Great location but room wasn't the cleanest.

Staff was helpful and polite, the location was great and the beds were comfortable. The floors and TV stand however were very dirty. I had to wash my daughters feet before bed and the washcloth was black! I would stay here again but bring cleaning supplies and flip flops.

Clean rooms with wonderful staff!

Rooms were very clean with nice hardwood floors. A/C and fridge and other accommodations worked great, our room was always cold (nice in 90 degree weather!) bathrooms are a bit tiny and need more lights (kinda dim taking a shower), but other than that good rooms at a great price! Will be back next year!
