On s’y sent bien. C’est un bel hôtel, très bien situé, au calme. Le service est parfait, le personnel est très agréable, toujours souriant. Pour avoir un taxi, rien de plus simple, une fois passé l’embardère, il suffit de demander au personnel de sécurité et il vous trouve un taxi de suite.....nous y retournerons l’en prochain.

The room was large, clean and comfortable but far from the reception area so I had to rely on a porter to help with my luggage. It took 45 minutes for them to pick up my luggage when I was checking out. Service was also limited at the buffet dinner. They seemed short staffed. The photos of the beach on the website are also misleading. The beach has black sand and the area around it is dirty. Dining options are limited and not cheap.

In regard to your comments, the black sand along the seafront is natural as the resort is located nearby two river mouths flowing into the sea. As such, on fine days we get the fair share of white sand as well as black sand & murky sea- water especially when there is rough seas and high tidal waves. This is quite natural, and we have no control over this matter. It is also disappointing to hear that you experienced service delays and we are sorry that we did not meet your expectations. Property site was very nice, but the Buffett style food was really not very good and was very overpriced! Also, a bottle of water at the resort was $10 ... at the little market just up the road from the resort, a larger bottle of water costed less than $2. Felt fleeced when the departure bill was tallied up. But overall ... very nice place to stay and relax.

The staff was so friendly and so attentive… What an amazing place to stay… The grounds were well kept And the swimming pool was perfect…. The chefs were great… The variety of foods were delicious and plentiful… From the staff at the desk to the house cleaners to the maintenance people to the waiters and waitresses… And management… It was the best experience I’ve had, and I’ve been traveling around the world for quite Sometimes… All of These people were wonderful… The ladies that work in the spa doing the massages were the best… So so helpful….

The staff here are amazing, especially Faith and Sera. The meals are lovely and kept hot, with good variety for breakfast and the buffet dinners. The cocktails are delicious and they can make whatever you want. The pool is large and clean. Our only disappointment is the distance to get to other places for tours etc and the lack of a swimming beach. Perfect for couples but lacks a little for children.

We enjoyed our stay! The property highlight is definitely the pool and swim up bar - the pool gets sun all day, and there is always good music playing from the bar. Overall good vibes. The staff at the hotel were also great - always saying hi, and making sure you have everything you need. The a la carte restaurant had good quality food, however the buffet was not great for the nights that we were there. The one downside of being in a quiet secluded area is that they can charge any price for food and you don’t really have other options. I would say that what they charge for the buffet does not reflect the quality of food. The room was spacious, and clean. Maybe it was the time of year we were travelling but there were lots of bugs and mosquitos. Make sure to bring some good quality bug repellent. Overall - an enjoyable and relaxing week.

For our pricing, please kindly be informed that, just like any other hotel/resort operation here in Fiji, there are pricing regulations set by the government of the day which is inclusive of taxes. More than a few food and beverage items are not available locally thus we import and pay duty, apart from hotel tax. This heavily influences pricing at point of sale, however, is still fair to the market. Our Pest Control provider has been updated per your comments and scheduled treatment is ongoing however being in a tropical climate, this is dealt with on a daily basis. The shower did not drain properly and overflowed into the rest of the bathroom. Had mold in the corners of the shower. On the first day we found the bed sheet had stains and had to be replaced. The standard of the breakfast could be improved. Overall had a very enjoyable stay. The staff are amazing, and they are an asset the hotel.

A nice property that is set in beautiful lush garden grounds. Fiji attracts us time and again not just because of its beautiful beaches and setting, but because of the beautiful people. The staff at Double Tree were no exception to this - open, friendly, always willing to help and greet you with a warm "Bula!". This was a particularly difficult time for them... we arrived a day before Cyclone Mal hit after transferring (last-minute) from one of the island resorts so that we could make our connecting flight back to NZ before the ferries were cancelled (the flight ended up being cancelled anyway). We were told to remain in our rooms for our safety during the cyclone, and food was delivered to us. This was a brilliant arrangement, and after the winds passed, staff immediately sprung into action around the resort to clear the debris, reinstate normality, and reassure visitors. Where the resort is really lacking is in the food/dining space - perhaps this was due to the weather events. The buffet selection for breakfast and dinner was average at best, often seemed to be random (choices that just didn't seem to go together), and serving dishes regularly empty for long periods due to the piggish buffet mentality of some guests. We watched a couple next to us bring their own bottled softdrink, tell staff that "only one of us will be having buffet thanks", then proceed to mound several plates which they shared between them. No wonder they have to crank the buffet prices up!

Disappointing for a Double Tree
A disappointing experience compared to other Fiji resorts and other Double Tree locations. I stayed in one of the Bure rooms, which are spacious and have Fijian styling. Unfortunately my bathroom smelled terrible upon check in and there were lingering smells of something like body odor throughout the room. The physical condition of the property appeared to be lacking – most of the roofs of the Bure rooms had tarps covering sections or had missing sections of roof shingles and several sidewalks and paths have crumbling cement. The restaurant music was so loud that conversation was difficult and the food quality was below average and not on par with other Double Tree locations. I ordered room service on the second night and after waiting nearly an hour I called back and room service had to ask me for my order again, which was finally delivered 90 minutes after my first call. The breakfast buffet had sufficient variety but several items such as the scrambled eggs were stone cold. My wife was interested in a spa service, but upon visiting the spa 1 hour after their opening time, no one was present and the front desk staff could not locate the spa attendant. The beach access was also disappointing, as there is a beach at one end of the property but only about a 100 meter section was usable - the rest was covered with trees and old tires. The staff are very friendly but this property was low value for the premium price and did not have the expected experience of a Hilton property.

The only thing that was not good was the food. They need to make the food better. Breakfast was ok. There was a good choice and the fresh omelettes are beautiful. The boost juice for the day was exceptional. However, the evening dining needs to be worked on. The only evening that had good food is the Fijian night. The entertainment was great and when the staff all sang together it was exceptional. It is a quiet resort which was what we wanted. So if you want a night life there isn't one. Apart from this the resort and the staff were fantastic.
