Pour un séjour qui change des chaînes hôtelières!
Petit déjeuner anglais excellent!!! Style médiéval de l'auberge pour les amoureux de l'histoire (armure à la réception, salles de style ancien avec poutres, vieux meubles...) Chambre familial pour 4 très bien. Situation charmante dans la campagne anglaise. Pour un séjour qui change des chaînes hôtelières!

Une étape très agréable dans un pub typique
Accueil rapide et sympathique,chambre propre,avec TV et bouilloire pour thé ou café,salle de bains fonctionnelle avec grande cabine de douches et produits de toilette en nombre.Petit déjeuner anglais copieux et bien servi;le pub est beau,avec de très beaux espaces;grand parking...pas vraiment entretenu.

Déçu de l'hôtel The Horseshoe inn Windmill Hill
Très déçu de notre séjour. Avions réservé 3 chambres doubles avec demande pour l'une d'elles d'un lit d'appoint pour enfant (comme le propose le site) lit d'appoint refusé à l'arrivée, obligation de prendre une chambre familiale avec supplément de 50 livres. Dans l'une des 3 chambres la télé ne fonctionnait pas. Petit déjeuner anglais tout juste acceptable, le petit déjeuner avec saumon n'était pas disponible, pour le café uniquement du nescafé. Quant à la partie restaurant le 1er soir restaurant fermé (l'indication n'est pas notifiée sur le site) on nous indique un pub tout proche : pub fermé - le 2ème soir il est possible de manger mais la moitié des plats ne sont pas disponibles, quant aux desserts, on nous répond il n'y a plus de dessert.

Assez bon hôtel
Joli hôtel, belle bâtisse ce qui donne indéniablement un certain charme. En revanche, cela a des inconvénients au niveau du confort. En particulier, pas de double vitrage, donc chambre très fraîche et ce malgré le chauffage au maximum. Et aucune couverture supplémentaire pour compenser... Petit déjeuner anglais correct, sans plus. Cela étant, très bon rapport qualité prix, donc on ne peut pas tout avoir...

Poor conditions, the room smelt Damp, mould by the windows. Only 1 plug socket in the room by the TV nothing by the bed. The pictures on the internet, are not what you get. Ie: Rooms. Also no toilet brush!! Very disappointed.

Happy with our one night stay very sad that this lovely hotel is on its way out, loved it, but sadly no food available so we had to eat out elsewhere. It seems sad that we cannot spend our money there , which may help to keep it going !

Check in was fine. Receptionist very helpful and friendly. The property was very tired and rather depressing. Our room was dated and the beds were ancient although had obviously been fitted with newer matresses. The room itself was superficially clean, although all doors, both in our room and along the corridors, needed a thorough cleaning and a lick of paint. The breakfast was fine, with cereals, toast, juices and yoghurts on display, but we had to ask what was available when ordering cooked food. Menus would have been appreciated.

Good Stay
Overall good stay at the Horseshoe Inn. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good and of a reasonable price. Building on the outside looks great but is dated and in need of an upgrade inside.

Well worth considering.
There's a lot to like about this hotel: the staff are helpful, I had no complaints about the food, the building itself is interesting and my room was clean and quiet. That said, it is let down by a lack of maintenance. Most of the surfaces in my room were worn, the bathroom felt tired and the carpet was literally threadbare. I understand from the manager that they are now tackling the backlog of jobs that need doing and, when done, this really will be somewhere special to stay.

Don't Stay There.
The rooms are so unwelcoming. We were in Room 14, and whilst there were no complaints over the cleanliness of the bedding or bathroom, the carpets and paintwork are absolutely filthy. Carpets are hoovered, but they are a mass of stains, and need to replacing. The windows and paintwork I have added a photo of. It cost me £156.60 for 2-nights which is terribly overpriced in this day and age for such inferior rooms. Will never stay there again, and they ought to offer partial refunds to their customers. Simply disgusting.

I booked a deluxe room (I don't think this was the one I was given) It did not match or look anything like the photographs. The Carpet was old, stained & dirty. The mirror was smeared and dirty. The Bed base fabric was ripped and a valance was badly fitted showing the damage. I had to stand on the chair and climb onto a wide window ledge to open the window and close the curtains. The flood lights shine straight into the bathroom and bedroom windows all night!! It was fairly windy during my stay and I was kept awake all night by something banging outside the window. The overall building was tired and in need of some refurbishment. On the plus side the guy behind the bar and lady serving breakfast were great.

Very poor service in the restaurant bar. One night I was waiting for 10 minutes or more to be served while the barman was chatting in the bar, eventually I when to my room and got my keys and drove to the local chip shop to get food, just what you need after working all day.

the character of the building is fantastic ! lovely location! however the room we stayed in was disgraceful old tatty and dirty and a broken shower! the carpet was grossly filthy and the amount of dust was awful. the staff were pleasant and helpful especially ed couldn’t fault him .

A little disappointed with the room which was advertised as a ‘Super Double room’ . There was nothing ‘Super ‘ about it. It was ordinary. In the photos , it shows the Super room as having a Four poster bed.- No such luck.

On a rival at 3.30pm we were told there were no longer doing food for the rest of the day . We choose this inn on the great write up about the food , a member of staff answer was that you drive else where who might do food not very helpful.

Bye far the worst hotel we have stayed in. The room wasn’t cleaned dispite constant requests we had to go out and buy pillows and toilet rolls as they would not replace them .we waited for 50 mins for Sunday lunch and when it came the food stuck to the plate as they forgot to bring it out and put it in the microwave We asked for a refund as we couldn’t eat it but was refused, After 3 days we said we wanted to move out and asked for our money back on the remaining days but the manager would not give us it back ,In my opinion I can see the manager running your hotel into the ground unless you replace him and sort the place out.

stopped overnight on a sunday arrived at 7pm note no food served after 6pm suday only so had to go to village nearby 5 mins for food nice curry house eastern promise was only place serving as the other pub served food at lunch only on sunday.heating is very warm in all hotel and room was exceptionatly well heated.good breakfast and nice staff.

A night at the Inn
Stayed for a night as part of our mini break. Comfortable stay, nice big room, decent wifi. Staff is friendly . Decent bar food but could do with a few more options for Vegetarians. Few points to note 1. If staying on Sunday night, the pub stops serving food by 6.00 p.m 2. Would avoid the rooms near to the road if you are a light sleeper(it's an old building and sound glazing is not modern)
